Treats sores and ulcers that have collapsed inward due to cold transformation, with clear and thin pus discharge, cool skin, epigastric fullness and obstruction (Xin Xia Pi Man), borborygmus with cutting pain, slightly loose stools, vomiting and regurgitation after eating, shortness of breath, hiccups, inability to lie down peacefully, and occasional fainting or confusion. (This is a formula by Sun Yanhe for treating an arm ulcer in Wang Bolu. The six pulses are deep and minute, the complexion has changed, the skin is cool, accompanied by hiccups.)
Fuzi (Prepared Aconiti Lateralis Radix, 4 qian) Ganjiang (Prepared Zingiberis Rhizoma) Qianghuo (3 qian) Muxiang (1.5 qian) Huixiang Dingchen Xinyiren (1 qian). Add five slices of Shengjiang, decoct and take.
This formula consists of herbs belonging to the Foot-Yangming and Three Yin meridians. *Weisheng Baojian* states: The classic says, "When cold invades the interior, treat it with acrid-hot herbs, assisted by bitter-warm herbs." Fuzi, Ganjiang... [text fragment] warm the stomach, expel pathogens...

Treats brain carbuncle (Nao Ju) and back carbuncle (Bei Ju), causing pain after perforation and ulceration.
Danggui Shengdihuang Shaoyao Huangqi Renshen Gancao (Honey-fried) Guigui (each 1 liang).
This formula consists of herbs belonging to the Foot-Yangming and Jueyin meridians. Danggui and Shengdihuang invigorate blood and cool blood; Renshen and Huangqi benefit qi and tonify the middle; Guigui resolves toxicity and promotes the transformation of toxic pus into mature pus. Once pus forms, the pain gradually ceases; Shaoyao harmonizes the spleen, and its sour flavor has an astringent effect; Gancao supports the stomach, and its sweet flavor has a moderating and pain-relieving effect, thus the pain naturally diminishes. (Qi Dezhi said: People generally believe that expensive herbs like Rushen and Moyao can stop pain; however, they fail to realize that treatment must be adapted to specific conditions, which involves various principles. Heat-induced pain is treated with cooling methods; cold-induced pain with warming methods; wind-induced pain by eliminating wind; damp-induced pain by draining dampness; dry-induced pain by moistening; obstructed pain by unblocking; deficiency-induced pain by tonifying; excess pain by purging; pus stagnation and closure by opening; foul flesh and ulceration by guiding out...)
Astringe wounds and promote tissue regeneration (Contraindicated for newly arising sores).
Hanshuishi (?) Huashi (2 liang) Longgu Haipiaoxiao (1 liang) Mituoseng Kufan Dingfen (i.e., Qianfen) Ganyanzhi (5 qian). Grind all into fine powder and sprinkle onto the wound surface.
This formula belongs to the Yangming category (Yangming governs muscles). Non-healing wounds are often due to the leakage of pus and fluid causing erosion. Shigao (also known as Hanshuishi. Li Shizhen stated: In formulas from the Tang and Song dynasties, Hanshuishi refers to Shigao) and Huashi relieve heat in the muscles; Longgu and Kufan are good at astringency; Ganyanzhi invigorates blood and resolves toxicity; Haipiaoxiao and Mituoseng...
