Treats conditions caused by consuming food that damages the spleen and stomach with damp-heat, leading to impaired transformation and transportation. Symptoms include chest and epigastric fullness and discomfort, abdominal hardness and pain, and diarrhea due to food stagnation.
Rhubarb Radix et Rhizoma (Da Huang) (1 liang) / Immature Bitter Orange Fructus Aurantii (Zhi Shi) (stir-fried with bran) / Scutellaria Root Radix Scutellariae (Huang Qin) (stir-fried with wine) / Coptis Rhizome Rhizoma Coptidis (Huang Lian) (stir-fried with wine) / Medicated Leaven Massae Fermentatae Medicatae (Shen Qu) (stir-fried. 5 qian) / Atractylodes Macrocephala Rhizome Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae (Bai Zhu) (stir-fried with soil).
This prescription acts on the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian and Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. When dietary stagnation causes pain and forms accumulations, without agents to push and purge them, the pathogenic factors cannot be expelled. If the stagnation is not completely cleared, the disease will ultimately not be cured. Therefore, warm-natured herbs are used to dissolve and eliminate the stagnation. Since Huang Qin, Huang Lian, and Da Huang are excessively bitter and cold, which may damage the Stomach Qi, Bai Zhu's sweet and warm nature is added to tonify the Earth (Spleen) and secure the Middle Jiao.

Take 20–30 jin of yellow ox meat (preferably fat and tender). Chop it finely, wash it clean, and boil it in running water using mulberry wood fire until it becomes mushy. Filter out the dregs and collect the pure juice. Boil it again.
Drink each time until all excrement is expelled, at which point the root of the disease will cease (consume continuously; if the condition is urgent, the medicine moves upward causing more vomiting; if mild, it moves downward causing more diarrhea. Adjust the speed based on whether the pathology is upper or lower).
After vomiting and diarrhea, thirst will inevitably occur. Do not give ordinary decoctions. At this time, urination will increase; collect the urine for drinking, named "Lunhui Jiu" (Wheel-turning Wine). This not only quenches thirst but also cleanses residual impurities. After the purgative effect, the patient will feel tired and wish to lie down. When hunger arises, first provide rice water, then thin porridge. Only after three days should thick porridge, soft rice, and vegetable soup be given. Maintain this regimen for half a month to one month, resulting in renewed vitality and the complete resolution of chronic ailments.
Xi Tian Gao (Cloud Sky Paste): Follow the above method. For every 12 jin of beef, one jin of paste can be prepared. Store in porcelain jars. In summer, keep submerged in water for up to three days; in winter, long-term storage may cause mold (pronounced 'mei'), which must be cooked thoroughly via double-boiling before use. For decoctions, take as directed; for pills, mix 3 fen of paste with 1 fen of Shen Qu, cook into a paste, or refine with honey.
This prescription acts on the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian and the Hand-Foot Yangming Stomach/Large Intestine Meridians. Zhu Danxi stated: The ox belongs to Kun Earth; yellow is the color of Earth. Its virtue lies in following the earth's nature, and its function lies in imitating robust strength—this is the utility of the male ox. Beef is medicine for the Stomach; meat juice is formless substance. Accumulations that persist for a long time become solid masses, adhering to the convoluted and curved parts of the intestines and stomach, which cannot be easily removed by simple emetic or purgative drugs.
