Treats deficiency-cold diarrhea (Xu Han Xie Xie), where food is undigested, accompanied by borborygmus (Chang Ming), abdominal pain, rectal prolapse (Tuo Gang), and stools containing pus and blood, occurring day and night without restraint.
Yumiqiao (Papaveris Pericarpium, remove pedicel, honey-fried, 5 fen), Hezi (Chebulae Fructus, roasted, remove seed, 7 fen), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum, processed, 6 fen), Juhong (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Rubrum, 5 fen).
Grind into fine powder.
These are herbs for the Foot-Yangming and Hand-Yangming meridians. Yumiqiao is sour, astringent, and slightly cold, consolidating the Kidney and astringing the Intestines; Hezi is sour, astringent, bitter, and warm, arresting prolapse and stopping diarrhea; Pao Jiang is acrid and hot, dispelling cold and tonifying Yang; Chenpi is acrid and warm, raising Yang and regulating Qi to secure Qi collapse, and also can arrest form collapse (Diarrhea is Qi collapse, rectal prolapse is form collapse).
Hejian's Hezi San: Hezi (1 liang, half raw, half roasted), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 5 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 2 qian), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 3 qian).
