Take the yellow center of the scallion white part, and pierce it into the nostril. For males, use the left nostril; for females, the right. Insert to a depth of seven or eight cun. For infants and children, adjust according to their size. If blood can be made to flow from the eyes, this is auspicious.
The method of Bian Que is the same.
Moxibustion method from Ge Hong's *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions Kept Up the Sleeve): Use a rope to encircle the wrist/elbow area of the deceased. For males, measure on the left; for females, on the right. After measuring, extend the rope from the Dazhui point (GV14) on the back downwards, and then horizontally from that point. Each measurement should be half the length of the rope. This method involves moxibustion at three locations, three times each, after which the patient will revive. Also, have someone scratch the Renzhong point (GV26) of the patient to awaken them. If they do not revive, roll up the patient's hand and perform moxibustion on the head below, with the number of moxa cones (Zhuang) corresponding to the patient's age (Sui Nian Zhuang). Additionally, perform three Zhuang in the nose. Also, perform ten Zhuang in the depression below the chin, known as the Chengjiang point (CV24), which is highly effective. Furthermore, perform seven Zhuang in the hairy area near the nail bed of both big toes. This is the method of Hua Tuo. Another version states twenty-one Zhuang, and additionally one hundred Zhuang in the umbilicus (Qizhong, CV8).
Bamboo tube blowing lower orifice method: Blow air into the patient's lower orifice using a bamboo tube. Several people must take turns blowing; if the Qi flows smoothly, the patient will revive.
Thousand Jin Cow Licking Prescription: Treats sudden death without pulse. There are no other specific signs or symptoms, as both Yin and Yang Qi are exhausted.
Place a cow above the infant's/patient's nose for two hundred breaths. The cow licking will surely cure the condition. If the cow refuses to lick, apply salt water to its face, and it will lick.
Ironing both hypochondria method: Heat an ironing pan and iron both sides of the hypochondrium. (*Beiji Fang* records: It also treats Shi Jue [Corpse-like coma].)
