Tusizi (soaked in wine until soft, ground while moist, dried, and the powder separated: 10 liang), Wuweizi (soaked in wine, powder separated: 7 liang), Baifuling, and Ganlianrou (each 3 liang). These are ground into powder. Separately, grind 6 liang of dry Shanyao powder. Use the remaining wine from soaking Tusizi, add more wine, and boil into a paste to mix with the obtained powders. Pound for thousands of strokes, form pills the size of mulberry seeds. Take 50 pills per dose, on an empty stomach before meals, with rice drink.
(Manufacturing details detailed in *Danxi Xinfa Fuyu*)
Shuiyin (1 jin), Liuhuang (4 liang). The above two ingredients are stir-fried in a new pot until they turn into sand-like grains. Put them into water and refine them using a fire tripod into powder. Form pills the size of hemp seeds using glutinous rice paste. Take 3 pills per dose, on an empty stomach, with Zao Tang (Jujube Decoction), rice drink, well water (Jinghua Shui), or Renshen Tang (Ginseng Decoction) as preferred. Adjust the dosage to 5–7 pills according to the severity of the disease. Avoid pig and sheep blood, mung bean flour, and cold, slippery foods.
Huanglian (remove stamens), Sumi, Gualougen, Fushen (each 4 liang), Zhimu, Maidong (remove heart, each 2 liang). Grind these into fine powder. Boil the pig stomach into a paste, then add refined honey to mix with the aforementioned medicine. Pound into pills the size of mulberry seeds. Take 50 pills per dose, with Renshen Tang (Ginseng Decoction). (Another formula adds Renshen, Shudihuang, and Gange. Another formula removes Zhimu and Sumi, using Xiaomai instead.)
Rendongcao (amount not fixed; roots, stems, flowers, and leaves can all be used; avoid contact with iron vessels; fresh material acts faster). Soak the above in rice koji wine in a bottle, simmer over chaff fire overnight, take out, dry, add a small amount of Gancao, and grind into powder. Use the soaking wine to boil into a paste to form pills the size of mulberry seeds. Take 50 to 100 pills per dose, with wine as preferred.
