Morus Cortex (Sangbaipipi), Akebia Caulis (Mutong), Rheum Palmatum Rhizoma et Radix (Dahuang) [crushed, stir-fried, 2 liang each], Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma) [1.5 liang], Gypsum Fibrosum (Shigao), Puerariae Radix (Gegen) [3 liang each], Glycyrrhiza Uralensis Radix (Gancao) [roasted until reddish-brown, 1 liang]. Take 3 qian per dose, decoct with one cup of water until reduced to 0.6 cup, and take warm after meals.

Curcuma Wenyujin Rhizoma (Chuan Yujin), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai), Mentha Haplocalyx Herba (Bohe), Panicum miliaceum var. glaucum Semen (Xiaohuangmi) [0.2 fen each]. Pulverize the above ingredients into a fine powder. For each use, take a small amount, hold cold water in the mouth, and insufflate into the nose.

Celastrus Orbiculatus Fructus (Doulou), Oenanthe javanica Herba (Shuiqin), Inula Flos (Xuanfuhua), Fermented Soybean Paste Herb (Jiabancao) [all fresh, extract juice], Mentha Haplocalyx Folium (Boheye), Myrobalanus Chebula Fructus (Wubeizi) [4 liang each]. Pound into a paste and form into cakes. Leave for seven days until white mold appears. Then, collect the juices from the first four herbs, mix with the cakes, and pound again. Repeat pounding with juice until dry, as many times as necessary. Use 5 li per dose; upon entering the mouth, saliva will flow abundantly.

Coptis Chinensis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Phellodendron Amurense Bark (Huangbai), Scutellaria Baicalensis Radix (Huangqin), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi), Rheum Palmatum Rhizoma et Radix (Dahuang) [add if constipated], equal parts. Pulverize and make pills with water. Take 30 pills per dose with plain boiled water.

Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Coptis Chinensis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Saiga Tataricus Cornu (Lingyangjiao) [sliced], Scutellaria Baicalensis Radix (Huangqin), Puerariae Radix (Gegen), Rheum Palmatum Rhizoma et Radix (Dahuang), Ophiopogon Japonicus Radix (Menmendong) [heart removed], Notopteryii Rhizoma et Radix (Qianghuo), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng), Chrysanthemi Flos (Ganjuhua) [0.5 liang each], Ginseng Radix (Renshen), Anemarrhenae Rhizoma (Zhimu), Glycyrrhiza Uralensis Radix (Zhigancao) [2.5 qian each]. Decoct the above ingredients. Take 3 qian per dose, decoct with one cup of water until reduced to 0.7 cup, strain, and take warm after meals. Another prescription excludes Ginseng Radix but includes Arctii Fructus (Niubangzi).

Coptis Chinensis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Mirabilite (Puxiao), Alum (Baifan) [0.5 liang each], Mentha Haplocalyx Herba (Bohe) [1 liang]. Pulverize into coarse powder. Place the medicine inside the gallbladder of a yellow ox slaughtered in the twelfth lunar month. Hang it at a windy spot for two months, then remove. If oral ulcers are present, grind the medicine finely and apply directly to the ulcer; removing hot salivary discharge leads to cure.

Coptis Chinensis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Scutellaria Baicalensis Radix (Huangqin), Phellodendron Amurense Bark (Huangbai), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhizi), Zingiberis Recens Rhizoma (Ganjiang), Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xixin), equal parts. Pulverize and apply topically.

(This is Siwu Tang [Four Substances Decoction] plus Phellodendron Amurense Bark [Huangbai], Anemarrhenae Rhizoma [Zhimu], Moutan Cortex [Danpi], and Cinnamomi Cortex [Rougui].)

Phellodendron Amurense Bark (Huangbai) [1 qian], Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai) [2 qian], Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui) [1 qian], Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian) [0.2 fen]. Pulverize and apply topically.

Scrophulariae Radix (Xuanshen), Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma), Notopteryii Rhizoma et Radix (Duhuo), Ophiopogon Japonicus Radix (Maidong), Scutellaria Baicalensis Radix (Huangqin), Phellodendron Amurense Bark (Huangbai), Rheum Palmatum Rhizoma et Radix (Dahuang), Gardeniae Fructus (Zhiren), Peucedani Radix (Qianhu), Rhinocerotis Cornu (Xijiao), Glycyrrhiza Uralensis Radix (Zhicao).
