The Heavenly Master said: If you wish to cultivate this method, first observe fasting and precepts, just as in the first month. Cease consuming delicacies, abstain from sexual intercourse. First, take one tael each of Longgu (Fossilized Bones), Wutou (Aconite Root), Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Root), and Xijiao (Rhinoceros Horn). Boil them in three dou of water until two dou remain. Bathe your entire body with this decoction; use the remainder the next day to wash your hands and face. Afterward, fill a basin with water, burn incense, perform the Yu Bu (Great Yu's Step) circling three times, hold a knife in your mouth, kneel long facing north, recite the preceding Qidu text. Upon completion, recite the obtained Jinwen (Prohibition Texts) three times each, strictly adhering to the prohibitions of the first month, and divine efficacy will be achieved.
The Heavenly Master said: Those who attain my method, superior scholars may ascend to immortality, inferior scholars may receive official promotion, and commoners may enjoy longevity and extended life. Fathers and sons, brothers must not transmit it to each other. Transmission must only be given to virtuous persons; do not transmit to non-virtuous persons, or misfortune will affect descendants.
Furthermore, receiving the Prohibition Method:
The spell says: If holding mugwort in the mouth, recite seven times a day for seven days, then stop.
Generally, the main principle for prohibiting diseases is to prohibit all diseases. First, chew a poplar branch to remove foul odors from the mouth. Then chew salt, and cast saliva while chanting spells. For ordinary dietary tastes, burn cow dung ash, leach the juice, and drink/rinse with it. This removes various filth in the abdomen and constitutes the method for making Filth-Resolving Talisman Water, restoring purity. This is the Palm Mantra Filth-Resolving Method.
Whenever traveling among humans and encountering filth, act accordingly.
Generally, those wishing to perform prohibitions must first pinch the "Ghost Eye." If prohibiting a male, pinch the left hand's Ghost Eye; if prohibiting a female, pinch the right hand's Ghost Eye. Another saying states: Men performing prohibitions pinch the left hand Ghost Eye, women pinch the right hand Ghost Eye. One must align with the Wangxiang (Kingly Phase) of the four seasons, face the Yuejian (Moon Builder/Direction) directly, center the mind, hold the breath, and pinch the Ghost Eye three times. Rotate the eye to the left to follow the Heavenly Dao, thus forming the Prohibition Method, which yields divine effects. "Left Ying Mu" means opening the left eye and closing the right eye; "Right Ying Mu" means opening the right eye and closing the left eye.
After completing a prohibition, one must perform the Release Method:
For example, if prohibiting a tiger, visualize oneself as a master, and pinch the tiger's eyes. To release, visualize oneself as a tiger again.
Another saying: Males in rotation pinch the right hand Tiger Eye, females in rotation pinch the left hand Tiger Eye. To prohibit a dog, visualize becoming a tiger, pinch the dog's eyes. To release, visualize becoming a dog. Follow this pattern for other cases.
The first segment of the thumb represents the head of living people, snakes, and tigers. If evil persons invade and curse incessantly, pinch slowly when calm, or hold breath and press urgently. Left Ying Mu stops the anger of evil persons. If it does not stop, press the throat, facing the government office gate, doing so 100 steps away before entering. Officials will see [you] but [not harm].
The second segment of the thumb represents the throat of living people, snakes, and tigers. If evil persons curse and fight, hold breath and pinch. Urgently, press and apply Left Ying Mu to make them stutter and unable to speak.
The first segment of the second finger represents the eyes of snakes and tigers. Treat snake/tiger sores by holding breath and pinching; applies to self and others. If seeing snakes/tigers, pinch immediately and press angrily.
The second segment of the second finger is the Ghost Eye. To see, dispel, or strike ghosts, pinch it. Urgently, hold breath, press, and apply Left Ying Mu. After nine breaths, spirits and ghosts arrive instantly. Call to send away, inhale to summon. Pinch for treating diseases.
The third segment of the second finger is the eye of living people. To hide oneself during conflicts or in deep mountains/wilderness, pinch it to suppress others' words. Urgently, hold breath, press, and apply Left Ying Mu so others cannot see you.
Under the nail of the third finger are the eyes of bees, scorpions, and flying insects. If stung by bees/scorpions, pinch it. Seven times Left Ying Mu, five breaths to resolve. If not healed, press the Scorpion Eye, Renzhong (GV26), and Tiantu (CV22), and pinch the palm center to heal.
The first segment of the third finger is the Hell Ghost-Healing Eye. To prohibit gods from coming/going, close eyes facing the King direction, hold breath for fifty breaths, and pinch. Urgently, apply Left Ying Mu and press.
Below the second segment of the third finger is the Heavenly Prison Eye. To prohibit, capture, repel, or kill ghosts, face the King direction, hold breath, and pinch. Urgently, press and apply Left Ying Mu. Apply if possessed by ghosts/demons or having night terrors.
The third segment of the third finger is the Rat Eye, also known as Heaven-Earth Hell, a Ghost-Healing Eye. To detain ghosts/spirits, face the King direction, hold breath for fifty breaths, pinch, and apply Left Ying Mu.
Under the secondary nail of the fourth finger are the eyes of mosquitoes, fleas, and lice. To remove them, hold breath and pinch.
The second segment of the fourth finger is the Dujian Eye, also known as Shen Du Eye. Dujian commands all gods and manages all ghosts. To summon spirits/gods for inquiry, face the King direction, hold breath for fifty breaths, pinch, and apply Left Ying Mu; spirits/gods arrive instantly.
The third segment of the fourth finger is the Ghost-Prohibiting Eye, also known as Snake Embryo. To examine, command, detain, or question ghosts, pinch and hold breath. When entering mountains/swamps fearing snakes/pythons, press the Snake Embryo to prevent snakes from appearing or to close their mouths if encountered.
The tip of the fifth finger is the Tianxin (Heaven Heart). To seek heavenly gods, face the King direction, hold breath, and press. Gods will naturally come for offerings, which is excellent.
The first segment of the fifth finger is the You Shi Eye (Wandering Master Eye).
The second segment of the fifth finger is the Tian Shi Eye (Heavenly Master Eye).
The third segment is the San Shi Eye (Three Masters Eye). These are used when initially learning talisman/prohibition methods: face the King direction, hold breath, pinch for ninety breaths, and apply Left Ying Mu. Invocation yields divine efficacy.
These are used when initially learning talisman/prohibition methods: face the King direction, hold breath, pinch for ninety breaths, and apply Left Ying Mu. Invocation yields divine efficacy.
The line in the palm is the Ghost Path. To destroy talismans, break graves, sever ghostly evil qi, or cut divine trees, face the Yuejian direction, hold breath for fifty breaths, press, and apply Left Ying Mu. Divine efficacy.
When casting spells on talismans, one must pinch/break the Ghost Path to ensure ghosts respect it. The line in the palm is also called Ghost Residence, Earth Axis, or Left Dujian Ghost Path Eye. To destroy talismans, break temples, remove shrine lands, summon spirits/gods for questions, treat diseases, or resolve ghost issues, press the Left Dujian Ghost Path Eye; spirits/gods arrive instantly. If camping in fields, press the Earth Axis so ghosts/thieves/gods dare not approach. If staying in spirit houses fearing unrest, press the Ghost Residence to avoid nightmares.
The diagonal line in the palm is named Shidi (Eating Earth). The line above Shidi is named Tianwen (Heaven Line), and below is Ren Dao (Human Path). When entering mountains/swamps fearing tigers/wolves, face the King direction, hold breath, and press the Hand Tiger Mouth; they will not come. If encountered, press to keep their mouths closed.
The first segment of the fourth finger is named Zuo Jintang (Left Golden Hall). For far travel seeking wealth, pressing it multiplies efficacy ten thousandfold.
The first segment of the third finger is named Yutang (Jade Hall). For seeking official positions, pressing it ensures success.
The first segment of the second finger is also named Yutang (Jade Hall). Press for seeking official posts.
Discussion: This palm mantra directly uses holding breath and Left Ying Mu, pinching without spells. For prohibiting diseases, one must perform Yu Bu, recite prohibition texts, pinch, and use. Urgent cases require pressing; slow cases require pinching. Prohibiting males uses the left hand; prohibiting females uses the right hand. Do not confuse left and right.
The method of Yu Bu involves moving steps left and right, with different front/back foot placements.
To perform rituals, first absorb Qi from the Three Lights (Sun, Moon, Stars), then perform Yu Bu, and the ritual becomes effective. The Three Lights are Sun, Moon, Star. Yu Bu varies: three, seven, or nine steps. To receive Three Lights Qi, stand on a very clear sunny day facing the sun with feet together. Whisper your wishes, then perform three-step Yu Bu. When stepping, look up at the sun, open mouth to absorb sunlight, close mouth, hold breath until three steps are completed, then release breath. Three steps mean moving both feet twice equals one step; three steps equal six foot movements. Facing the sun, move left foot first, then right. Facing moon/stars, move right foot first, then left; only step count differs. Facing stars requires nine steps. Nine steps equal three steps in sun plus six additional steps. Stars refer to the Big Dipper. Special diligence is required for stars, hence nine steps. For sun/moon, three or seven steps may be used. Spell casting and breath-holding methods are the same as for the sun. Receiving Three Lights Qi requires bright sunny days. Sun is Yang; Moon and Stars are Yin. Left is Yang, Right...
If one breath is insufficient, hold breath every three steps; thus nine steps involve three breath holds. Wishes must be made three times. One must recognize the Three Platforms stars under the Big Dipper. Men recognizing them avoid prison disasters; women avoid childbirth disasters. Question: Although two foot movements make one step, what is the exact form? Answer: Stand with feet together. Lift left foot forward, then bring right foot to align with left. This is not yet one step. Second time, lift left foot forward, bring right foot to left's position. Now one step is complete. Six such movements create three steps. This is the stepping method.
