Translation:
It is said that the general principle for using incantations (Jin) is that when reciting the incantation text, one must absolutely not make a sound aloud; it should only be audible to one's own ears. If others hear the咒 (curse/incantation), the Jin method will fail, and its practice will be of no benefit. One must be extremely cautious. When receiving the Jin, one must not let any person or livestock see it; if seen, it will not work. During the reception of the method, the knives and water basins used must never have been in contact with wine, meat, or the Five Pungent Spices (Wu Xin).

The *Shenxian Jing* (Classic of Immortals) states: For counter-treatment Jin, all diseases are treated by overcoming like with like.

When encountering water-related difficulties, use Earth Qi to overcome them; when encountering Earth-related difficulties, use Wood Qi to overcome them; when encountering weapon/danger difficulties, use Yang Essence Qi to overcome them; when encountering ghost/spirit difficulties, use Tao Soup (Peach Decoction) to overcome them; when encountering tiger difficulties, use the Qi of the Five Constants to overcome them. For the counter-treatment of all diseases using like-with-like principles, whether holding a knife, peach branch, fire, mirror, water, rope, medicine, talisman, halberd, bow, arrow, crossbow, food, sitting posture, powder, intention, deity, imagination, Qi, scroll, stone, earth, salt, banner, fat, meat, blood, face/expression, metal, jade, or seal—all these methods are used to suppress through Jin. The required Jin methods involve petitioning,告 (informing), sacrificing, harming (good deities are retained through food sacrifices; evil ghosts are suppressed and driven away), killing, fearing, loving, rejoicing, hating, dying, fleeing, staying, and extinguishing. Therefore, when used for counter-treatment, each has specific regulations.

The *Xian Jing* (Immortal Classic) states: There are six methods of using Jin: 1. Tooth Jin: Intention guides Qi to the teeth. 2. Eye Regulation Jin: Open one eye and close the other. 3. Intentional Imagination Jin: Focus intention to imagine diseases being eliminated. 4. Pinching Eye Jin: Refers to having a symbol representing fifteen days on the hand. 5. Qi Channel Jin: Refers to the five breathing sounds: Chui (Blow), Hu (Exhale), He (Groan), Xu (Whistle), Xi (Laugh). 6. Deity Visualization Jin: Visualize various deities present, and through food offerings and rituals, attract spiritual energy from heaven. This also refers to ringing the heavenly drum and clicking the teeth.

Whenever seeking treatment for someone, after taking three steps out the door, recite the incantation: "Heaven kills Huang Huang, Earth kills Zheng Fang, thousands of ghosts and ten thousand gods, who dares to hide? Flying steps reach instantly, hundred ghosts perish. Execute immediately as per law."

Upon arriving at the host's home, one must first remove impurities by performing the "Five Dragons Water Method," holding a water bowl and reciting: "Eastern Azure Dragon bring water, Southern Red Dragon bring water, Western White Dragon bring water, Northern Black Dragon bring water, Central Yellow Dragon bring water. Five directions' five dragons spit water to drown and kill evil ghosts. Execute immediately as per law." After finishing, click the teeth three hundred times.

Then recite the incantation: "Divine water removes Heaven's impurity, Earth's impurity, Life's impurity, Death's impurity, Human impurity, Ghost impurity, Body impurity, Patient's impurity. Remove them quickly, make them pure immediately. Execute immediately as per law." Then perform three Xu (whistling exhalations) and three Chi (scolding commands), stir rightward with the knife three times, stomp the ground three times with the right heel, hold water in the mouth and spray it in four directions, and spray it onto the patient's affected area, ensuring complete cleanliness. Then, according to the method, visualize deities and perform Jin. Again, guide Qi to the teeth, let it stay, close one eye, and after removing intention, perform the pinching eye action. Then visualize the Seven Stars above the head, visualize Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise protecting the body, visualize great deities in the front and back with five stars, visualize within the abdomen, exhale while visualizing Qi like clouds, strike the affected area so it moves slowly. Walk following the laws of Qian and Kun. By practicing thus, external evils will not enter the five Zang organs, and divine clarity will naturally flow. All this requires careful scrutiny to ensure no mistakes.

Another method: When intending to go to a patient's house, one must visualize making a White Tiger spit fire, burning the patient's house until nothing remains. Also visualize a dragon licking the patient's flesh until clean. Then visualize replenishment and luster, and subsequently treat with urgent Qi. To strike objects, proceed exactly as described. This allows the practitioner of Jin to communicate with spirits and all things, yielding miraculous effects. It must be done with precision and care. If spitting treats heat diseases, blow cold Qi fourteen times (two sevens), then perform Jin. If spitting treats cold diseases, blow warm Qi fourteen times (two sevens), then perform Jin. After spitting three times, perform Jin; after Jin is finished, spit three more times before stopping.

The *Xian Jing* states: Receiving talismans and Jin follows the same method. First, cultivate oneself and keep pure, stabilize the soul and fix the spirit, speak not frivolously, observe a pure fast for one hundred days. One can achieve immortality, avoid adverse and evil energies, eliminate disasters, and attain longevity.
