*Discussion:* For Jiudan (Wine Jaundice), if the pulse is floating, induce vomiting first; if the pulse is deep and wiry, purge first. Some cases of Jiudan present without heat, with clear consciousness, abdominal fullness, and desire to vomit; these are suitable for emesis. If there is heat in the heart and desire to vomit, emesis is also suitable. Jiudan invariably involves difficulty in urination. Its signs include heat in the epigastrium and heat under the feet. If Jiudan is incorrectly treated with purgatives, it may eventually transform into Heidan (Black Jaundice), presenting with blue-black eyes, black complexion, a sensation in the heart like eating minced garlic, black stool, and skin as hard as leather with loss of sensation upon scratching. The pulse will be floating and weak. Although the complexion is black, a slight yellow hue remains, which allows for diagnosis.
