Discard the turbid fluid, retain the clear water from the top, and soak overnight again. Wash and settle as before. Use the clarification method to remove the turbid sediment at the bottom, take the liquid, and soak for three nights. After clarification, take the clear water along with the soaked bone and horn. Simmer over a gentle fire. Generally, for one *dan* (approx. 120 liters) of horn shavings, use three *dan* of water. Remove the horn residue, clarify, and take the clear liquid. Decoct until the water is reduced to approximately five *sheng* (approx. 1 liter). Pour out and store in a copper vessel. Simmer over boiling water for three days and three nights until it resembles sugar consistency. Take out, place on a plate to cool and solidify, cut into thin slices with a bamboo knife, and dry in the sun on clean cloth. For the horns used for decoction, chop them finer, add double the amount of water, boil down to three or four *sheng*, put into a copper vessel, and simmer over boiling water as described above.
Administration:
Roast the gelatin until it turns very yellow and boils. Pound and sieve into powder. For every *jin* (approx. 500g) of gelatin powder, use two *liang* (approx. 60g) of prepared *Fuzi* (Prepared Lateral Root of Aconitum carmichaelii). Another method: select only the largest ones, peel, cut finely, roast until yellow, which is superior to processing by frying. In the morning on an empty stomach, administer with wine. One dose is one *cunbi* (approx. 3-5g). Twice daily. Gradually increase to two *cunbi*. Do not exceed two *cunbi*. It tonifies the Five Zang and Six Fu organs, treating extreme deficiency, emaciation, and weakness. Old-aged material is preferred.
Method for detoxifying Wutou and the "Three Jian" (Tianxiong, Fuzi, Cezi):
*Wutou* (Raw Lateral Root of Aconitum carmichaelii) is harvested in the second lunar month. *Tianxiong* (Main Root of Aconitum carmichaelii), *Fuzi* (Prepared Lateral Root of Aconitum carmichaelii), and *Cezi* (Side Root of Aconitum carmichaelii) are all harvested in the eighth lunar month. Spring harvest should be early; autumn harvest should be late. After harvesting, clean thoroughly and remove rootlets and hairs. The stems...
