If the patient's breath has not yet ceased and the body has not yet cooled, first align the head properly, bring the knife wound edges together, and wipe away fresh blood. Immediately take one large rooster, skin it while alive, and apply the warm skin to the affected area as a poultice; self-healing will occur shortly.
Drink one dou and two sheng of Puerariae Radix (Kudzu Root) juice, stopping when the patient regains consciousness. Alternatively, cook Vine Clove Herb (Cavaleris Herba) with a small amount of rice until done, strain off the dregs, let it cool, and have the patient drink it for good effect.
Spread moist, damp sandy soil on the ground and let the patient lie supine upon it. Then cover the patient's body completely with wet sand, leaving only the mouth and nose exposed for breathing; after a long time, the patient will naturally awaken.
Some people raise livestock gu poison to harm others. Those poisoned suffer severe pain in the heart and abdomen, feeling as if something is gnawing at them, or they vomit and pass blood. If not treated immediately, once the poison enters the five zang organs and destroys them completely, death ensues. To determine if it is gu poison, ask the patient to spit into water; if it sinks, it is gu; if it floats, it is not. Treatment uses: Crotonis Fructus (Castor Bean), processed by removing the heart and peel and stir-fried, 10 seeds; Fermented Soybean (Douchi), stir-fried, half sheng; Fudi Mo (Soot from the bottom of the cooking pot), one fangcun bi. Grind and sieve the above ingredients into a powder. In the early morning, administer with wine in a dose the size of a hairpin head. The practitioner of the gu art will likely come to the door themselves; do not respond. Once they return home, you will immediately know their name. Or use: Realgar (Xionghuang), Cinnabar (Zhusha), Veratrum Rhizome (Lilou), roasted; Equi Oculi Venenum (Mumudu Gong); Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus (Zaojiao), peeled, seeds removed, and roasted; Polygala Tenuifolia Radix (Mangcao), roasted; Crotonis Fructus (Badou), processed by removing the heart and peel and stir-fried, each 2 fen. Grind and sieve together, form pills with honey the size of soybeans, and take three pills. The patient should experience diarrhea, first passing clear water, then expelling snakes and other organisms. For those who often feel vexed and stifled, nourish according to standard methods using duck soup.
Chop Acori Tatarinowii Rhizome (Lugen), boil to extract juice, and drink one or two sheng for good effect.
Crabs that have not been exposed to frost are mostly toxic. Boil Perillae Frutescens Folium (Zisu) to make juice and drink three sheng. Drinking the juice of crab roe also treats this condition.
Boil Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Jupi) thickly and drink the juice, or drink Benincasae Mesocarpium (Donggua) juice; both are effective.
Take Powder of Phellodendri Cortex (Huangbai), administer one fangcun bi. If symptoms do not resolve, take multiple doses.
Squeeze out human urine juice and drink one sheng to revive. Taking various anti-emetic and anti-diarrheal pills is also good. Additionally, dig earth to obtain two or three sheng of mud slurry, which is beneficial. Poisoning from wild taro is treated similarly.
Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian), Vigna Angularis Seed (Xiaodou), Pogostemonis Herba (Huozhi) juice, and Glycines Max Semen (Daydou) juice can all detoxify this.
