A man's breasts suddenly swell, resembling those of a woman, and are extremely painful to the touch. Despite treatment, they do not heal. This is caused by the Qi of the Yangming Meridian (Yangming Channel) being knotted between the breasts.
The treatment should focus on resolving phlegm and unblocking blood stasis. The prescription is as follows:
Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos, Honeysuckle Flower) and Pugongying (Taraxaci Herba, Dandelion Herb), each 1 liang; Tianhuafen (Trichosanthis Radix, Trichosanthes Root), Baijiezhi (Brassicae Semen Album, White Mustard Seed), each 5 qian; Fuling (Poria, Poria Cocos), Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, White Peony Root), Tongcao (Tetrapanacis Medulla, Tetrapanax Pith), each 3 qian; Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, Bupleurum Root) 2 qian.
Decoct with water and take orally.
Some individuals have lost both hands and feet yet continue to live. This results from excessive drinking of cold water due to thirst during a Shanghan (Cold Damage) illness. If fluid oozes from the fingers and toes after recovery, immediately use:
Yiyiren (Coicis Semen, Coix Seed) 3 liang; Fuling (Poria, Poria Cocos) 2 liang; Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Atractylodes Rhizome); Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex, Cinnamon Bark); Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen, Plantago Seed), each 1 qian.
Decoct with water and take orally for ten consecutive doses. Once urination becomes profuse and the oozing from the extremities stops, discontinue the medication.
A patient's fingernails all fall off without pain or itching. This is due to deficient Fire in the Kidney Meridian (Kidney Channel) and washing hands with cold water immediately after sexual intercourse. The prescription is as follows:
Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, Prepared Rehmannia Root); Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus, Cornus Fruit); Shanyao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma, Yam Rhizome); Fuling (Poria, Poria Cocos); Danpi (Moutan Cortex, Tree Peony Bark); Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma, Alisma Rhizome); Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, Bupleurum Root); Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, White Peony Root); Poguzhi (Psoraleae Fructus, Psoralea Fruit), each 3 qian.
Decoct with water and take orally.
Blood flows incessantly from between a patient's fingers, and insects resembling mayflies emerge, flying away shortly thereafter. This is caused by damp-heat generating parasites, accompanied by Wind pathogen invasion.
The prescription is as follows:
Huangqi (Astragali Radix, Astragalus Root); Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, Prepared Rehmannia Root); Yiyiren (Coicis Semen, Coix Seed), each 5 qian; Fuling (Poria, Poria Cocos); Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Dong Quai Root); Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, White Peony Root); Sheng Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Licorice Root); Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Atractylodes Rhizome), each 3 qian; Renshen (Ginseng Radix, Ginseng Root); Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, Bupleurum Root); Jingjie (Schizonepetae Spica, Schizonepeta Spike), Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Szechwan Lovage Rhizome), each 1 qian.
Decoct with water and take orally for four doses. After four doses, the bleeding will cease. Taking another four doses will restore the fingers to their original state.
A patient's navel suddenly protrudes two cun in length, resembling a snake's tail but not actually a snake, with no sensation of pain or itching. This is caused by the obstruction of Phlegm and Qi in the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) and Dai Mai (Girdle Vessel). The prescription is as follows:
Pengsha (Borax, Borax); Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, Synthetic Borneol); Shexiang (Moschus, Musk), each 1 fen; Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Dahurian Angelica Root); Xionghuang (Realgar, Realgar); Ercha (Catechu, Catechu), 2 qian.
Grind together into powder. First, puncture the "tail" to induce bleeding. At this moment, the patient will likely faint and feel as if dying; urgently apply the medicine to the spot, which will instantly turn into black fluid. Immediately follow with:
Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Dahurian Angelica Root) 3 qian.
Decoct with water and take in one dose to achieve spontaneous healing.
