The etiology of this syndrome lies in the fact that a woman's menstrual flow has recently ceased but has not yet returned to normal. The uterine gate and womb have been strained by labor, leading to an imbalance of Yin and Yang and the separation of Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) Qi circulation. If one is struck by wind-cold pathogens, walks in the wind, sits on damp ground, travels long distances, drinks water from dirty wells, or consumes unclean food, the essence of snakes and rats may be swallowed into the abdomen. This generates "She Jia" (Snake Mass), a type of abdominal mass. The pathogenic factor can ascend to devour the liver and heart. After a prolonged period, pain occurs in the lower back, back, thighs, and calves. There are intermittent episodes of chills and fever, and menstrual volume becomes irregular. Women suffering from this condition will lose their ability to conceive. Treatment uses:
Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), each half liang; Gan Cao (Licorice Root, honey-fried), one chi long and as thick as a finger; Ou Mei Gu (Sepiae Endoconcha), two pieces; Zao Jiao (Gleditsiae Fructus), six pieces with skin and seeds removed.
Take the above herbs, add six sheng of water, boil three times, remove the dregs, add Mang Xiao, and drink when the temperature is suitable on an empty stomach. Stagnation should be purged after ingestion.
The etiology of this syndrome lies in the fact that a woman's menstruation has just ended, she is severely fatigued, sweats profusely after labor, and her clothes remain wet without being changed promptly. Or she sleeps in the wind, steps on damp ground; or bathes in water and does not exit promptly. This causes the spirit to fail to reside within its abode, allowing Water Qi and Pathogenic Qi to invade. This generates "Bie Jia" (Turtle Mass), another type of abdominal mass. Its manifestations include severe cutting pain in the lower abdomen, a sensation of an object like a small cup moving up, down, left, and right within the abdomen, appearing and disappearing intermittently. Lower back pain is also present. Menstruation is obstructed, the face and eyes appear yellowish-black, and the voice becomes hoarse. Treatment uses:
Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), 6 fen; Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Ce Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Preparata), each 0.5 fen; Fu Zi (Aconiti Radix Preparata), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), each 9 zhu; E Chong (Eupolyphaga), 1 cun bi (fried); Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus), 1 liang 6 zhu.
Crush and sieve the above herbs into powder. Take 1 cun bi with wine, three times daily. The mass will naturally dissipate.
Whenever a woman first suspects pregnancy, taking this formula immediately can transform the fetus from female to male and ensure fetal stability.
Dan Shen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Chuan Duan (Dipsaci Radix), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Bai Jiao (Asini Corii Colla/Bone Glue), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Bai Zi Ren (Platycladi Semen), Gan Cao (Licorice Root), each 2 liang; Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Xiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), each 30 zhu; Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus), Ju Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), each 1 liang 18 zhu; Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Guan Ying (Hair Ash, burned to ash), each 1 liang; Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), 1.5 liang; Wu Yi (Meliae Fructus), 18 zhu.
Grind the above herbs into fine powder, mix with honey to make pills the size of wu zi (wuju fruit seeds). Take 10 pills with wine, twice daily. Gradually increase to 20 pills. Additionally, place an axe under the bed where the parturient woman lies, with the blade facing downward, keeping it unknown to others. Also, take 1 liang of Xiong Huang (Realgar), place it in a crimson pouch, and wear it. To desire a female child, wear Ci Huang (Pararealgar) instead.
