Those who have been struck by pathogenic factors often suffer from weak Heart Spirit, allowing external pathogens to invade. This leads to phlegm confusing the Heart orifices, sudden collapse, mental confusion, palpitations, delirious speech, and the sensation of being possessed by spirits or ghosts. It is suitable to use a formula that calms the Spirit, opens the orifices, guides heat out, and strengthens the Primordial Qi. The prescription is as follows:

Decoct with one dou of water until two sheng and half remain. Divide into three doses.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) 1 liang, Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum), Fu Ling (Poria) each 5 qian, Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma) 1 qian, Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) 5 fen.

When people occasionally visit inside temples or near coffins, they may inadvertently approach corpse qi and contract Yin pathogens or demonic influences, easily leading to this condition. Initially, use the following:
Gua Di (Cassiae Semen), Chi Xiao Dou (Vigna Angularis Semen) each 1 liang.
Grind into powder. Then use:
Xiang Chi (Sojae Semen Praeparatum) 1 he.
Boil with seven he of hot water until it becomes a thin porridge. Strain to obtain the juice, mix with the previous powder, and take warm in one dose. Stop when vigorous vomiting occurs. Subsequently, use:

When men or women are occasionally affected by Wind pathogens, men may dream of women, and women may dream of men, engaging in sexual intercourse in dreams. Over time, this leads to consumptive disease. Symptoms include sorrow, worry, resentment, irregular anger and joy, gradual emaciation, lasting for years and difficult to cure. Attacks may occur every half month or several months. It is suitable to disperse Liver Wind and eliminate Phlegm-Dampness. The prescription is as follows:
Sang Ji Sheng (Taxilli Caulis) 3 liang, Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Yin Yu (Coscinii Rhizoma) each 2 liang, Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Ramulus Cortex), Tian Xiong (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix), Chang Pu (Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Qian Gen (Rubiae Radix et Rhizoma), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) each 1 liang.
Grind all together into powder. Take with wine, one cun bi (a square-inch measure) per dose, three times daily. During preparation, do not let women, chickens, dogs, or the patient's family members see or know, lest the pathogenic energy fail to depart. Adhering to this prohibition is verified as effective.
