To treat sweating caused by *Chuan Shi Lao* (a contagious chronic wasting disease, often referring to tuberculosis or similar conditions), thereby expelling parasites and evil pathogens.
Take *Biejia* (Tartaric Turtle Shell, 1 liang, soaked in vinegar, roasted until yellow, cleaned of roots, crushed); *Tianlinggai* (Human Skull Cap, one piece the size of seven spoons, washed clean, coated with butter, roasted until yellow); branches of peach, willow, and mulberry trees (each 7 stems, approximately 7 cun long each); *Taoren* (Peach Seed, 49 pieces, skin and tip removed); *Anxi Xiang* (Benzoin Resin, 1 fen); *Qinghao* (Artemisiae Annuae Herba); *Danchi* (Lightly Fermented Soybean, 21-30 grains); *Congbai* (Scallion White, 2 stems).
The above eight ingredients are soaked in one sheng of water overnight until the fifth watch (early morning). Decoct to obtain half a sheng of liquid. Then add half a sheng of urine from an uncircumcised boy and decoct together to obtain four he of liquid. Grind one betel nut into powder and use one qian of *Shexiang* (Musk). Strain the decocted medicine, mix with the powders, and take orally at once when the sun is two zhang high, while warm. Cover with clothing to induce sweating. Carefully examine the ten fingers; if sweat emerges like lotus root threads, appearing in five colors and having a foul odor, and after sweating, worm-like foul matter is completely excreted through the bowels, administer again after ten days for severe cases, which ensures permanent efficacy.
To treat all types of *Lao* (consumptive diseases/chronic deficiency syndromes).
Take Bufo (*Xama*, Toad), Crane Bone (*He Gu*), Clove (*Dingxiang*), Jujube Leaf (*Zao Ye*), Eel (*Manli*), Costus Root (*Muxiang*), and Pig's Tooth Gleditsia Fruit (*Zhuya Zaojiao*) in equal parts. Add *Shexiang* (Musk) separately ground fine, a small amount.
Grind the above into powder. Fill large sheep intestines with the powder, tie both ends securely, and steam over a rice steamer until cooked. Remove, let cool, cut open with a bamboo knife, and grind together with the intestine until fine. Add *Shexiang* (Musk) again and grind uniformly. Form pills the size of golden dew berries (*Wutongzi*). Every day between Chen and Si hours (7:00–11:00 AM), swallow 100 pills with boiled water infused with *Maoxiang* (Imperata Cylindrica Rhizome). Adjust dosage gradually according to the patient's strength. It is necessary to ensure that one dose consumes the full 100 pills. Afterwards, cover with blankets to induce sweating. For severe cases, expose the face slightly. The "corpse worms" will emerge slowly with the sweat, resembling wheat bran in size; other symptoms being mild, the patient feels physically light and refreshed after complete sweating. After ten treatments, three or four tenths of the disease may be eliminated. Once the sweat dries, immediately change the original clothes and bedding. Upon initial administration, if the medicine is vomited out entirely immediately and vomiting persists, it is difficult to treat. If 60–70 pills remain undigested/vomited out of 100, treatment is still viable; supplement with new medicine to make up the number. If the medicine fails to act entirely, the disease will not recede. Post-medication, avoid all activities causing physical exertion. For severe cases, taking this medicine two to three times can eradicate the root cause permanently. After the first dose, there are no specific dietary taboos for other foods. It is advisable to also take *Zhusan* (decoction powder) for consumptive diseases for three to five doses. During initial sweating, frequently wipe with handkerchiefs. After about the time it takes to cook a meal, intestinal worms associated with *Lao* will be excreted once. Use a separate basin to collect them; the worms appear small but vigorous, floating on the surface and moving. If vomiting does not occur after medication, the effect is excellent. One must strictly avoid violating medication taboos for life. Specifically, *Kushen* (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), *Renshen* (Ginseng Radix), *Kongqing* (Azurite), *Mendong* (Ophiopogonis Tuber), and *Wutou* (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) are strictly contraindicated.
