Take as three doses, in the morning, noon, and evening, three times a day. Combine the dregs of two doses, decoct again, and take as one dose. This formula has been verified by many physicians; it is highly effective for patients who are significantly emaciated.
Indications: For men suffering from five types of exhaustion and seven kinds of injuries, presenting with soreness and pain in the hands and feet, fatigue and vexation in the four limbs, frequent oral ulcers, throat discomfort, chest and epigastric fullness and stuffiness, loss of appetite, chronic accumulation of diarrhea and dysentery, edema of the feet and knees, and progressive emaciation.

Liu Gui (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Wu Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, washed with warm water and soaked), Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) (each 1 liang), He Zi Pi (Terminaliae Chebulae Pericarpium, seven pieces, of good quality), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 0.5 liang).
The above ingredients are pounded into powder. For each dose, take one liver of pig, clean off the fascia and membranes, cut into willow-leaf shapes, rinse in water seven times, drain well. Mix with ten qian of the medicine powder and one fen of salt, blend evenly, form into pills, string them, and roast slowly over low heat until cooked. Take at will on an empty stomach, descending with ginger porridge.
[Yan Shou San (Longevity Powder)]
Indications: For men, women, and children suffering from "chuan shi" (infectious consumption/tuberculosis) and various forms of deficiency-fever disorders, presenting with cough, aversion to cold, fever, and myriad variable symptoms. The treatment aims to expel the "zheng han lao chong" (steaming sweat labor parasites).
Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, processed, peel and navel removed), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix, remove seedlings), Qin Jiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix), Bie Jia (Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum, soaked in wine, roasted until red) (each 0.5 liang).
The above five ingredients are finely powdered together. Add Ren Zhong Bai (Uridis Calculus, 0.5 liang) and grind together. Store in a porcelain vessel. For each dose, take one kidney of pig, place with Cong Bai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) and Jiao Mo (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium powder), mince finely into a paste. Add three qian spoons of the medicine powder, mix well. Decoct with one zhan of urine from a healthy child and half a zhan of water until boiling. Take warm. The patient should wear a black gauze shirt against the skin. After taking the medicine, cover with clothing to induce sweating of evil fluids until sticky discharge is completely expelled. Then remove the black gauze shirt, wipe the body, wait until dry, avoid wind, and rest recuperatively. Perform this treatment once every seven days. If the sweat after medication is light, stop. Wash the black gauze shirt with soapberry water, dry An Xi Xiang (Styrax Dryandri) by baking, and finally discard the waste at a crossroad or in flowing long water, ensuring permanent cure.
