[Dingxiang Jiao'ai Tang (Clove and Donkey-hide Gelatin Decoction)] Treats persistent metrorrhagia and leukorrhea. This is caused by insufficient Heart Qi, overexertion, and irregular diet. After some time, the pulse at both Chi positions is wiry, tight, and surging, but weak upon deep pressure. The patient feels cold in the lower abdomen as if with ice, seeking thick clothing and quilts to ward off the cold. There is abundant white leukorrhea and slippery discharge, occasionally mixed with small amounts of fresh blood. The right Chi pulse is sometimes surging and weak. "Leaking roof" refers to profuse discharge where blackish material predominates over red blood, resulting from their mixture. A wiry-tight pulse indicates predominant cold; a surging pulse appearing intermittently indicates minor heat. In summary, wiry-tightness signifies excessive Northern Cold Water energy, while intermittent surging signifies deficient Fire of the Mingmen (Gate of Life) and Pericardium.

[Yiwei Shengyang Tang (Benefit Stomach and Raise Yang Decoction)] Treats blood depletion by supplementing Qi, an excellent method of the ancients. First tonify Stomach Qi to assist the generating Qi. Thus it is said "Yang generates Yin." Using sweet-flavored agents is the priority. Although the world considers this merely Qi-tonifying, they do not know that sweet flavors generate blood, illustrating the principle of Yang generating Yin. Therefore, regulate Stomach Qi first; within the body, Grain Qi is precious.

Add 2 sheng of water per dose. Decoct until 1 sheng remains. Strain. Take slightly hot at any time. ○ Huangqin: Add slightly more in summer; remove in autumn and winter. ○ If abdominal pain occurs, add Baishaoyao (White Peony Root) 0.3 qian and a little peeled Rougui (Cinnamon Bark). ○ If thirsty or dry-mouthed, add Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) 0.2 fen.
[Shengyang Ju Jing Tang (Raise Yang and Lift Menses Decoction)] Treats irregular menstruation. The right Chi pulse is empty upon deep pressure, indicating depletion of both Qi and Blood, a severe cold syndrome. Light pressure reveals a rapid pulse; lifting the finger reveals wiry, tight, or choppy pulses, all signs of Yang collapse and extinction of Yin fire. If heat symptoms appear in the mouth, nose, eyes, accompanied by thirst, these indicate Yin restlessness and impending Yang collapse. Treatment should involve warming, lifting, raising, floating, and drying. This method requires strongly floating and raising Qi and Blood, and firmly tonifying the collapse below the Mingmen (Gate of Life).
Huangqi (Astragali Radix), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Danggui Shen (Body of Angelicae Sinensis Radix). Dosages: Each 3 qian.

[Jiuzhu Danggui Wan (Wine-boiled Angelica Pill)**] Treats hernia, leukorrhea dripping downwards, and hong kong jiao (foot disease/gout). Sensation of ice and snow in the lower body despite heating and heavy quilting indicates extreme cold. Face is pale like a dried fish, muscles wasted rapidly as if scraped by a knife. Urination is uncontrollable, leukorrhea flows incessantly without awareness. Face is white, eyes blue-green like basket vegetables. Vision is blurred. Body is heavy as a mountain, gait unsteady. Legs and knees are emaciated. Constipation. Inability to speak. Extreme weakness. Inability to eat or drink. Epigastric fullness and irritability. Restlessness. Unbearable suffering. Facial dirtiness. Back aversion to cold. Urinary incontinence without awareness. This indicates exhaustion of True Qi in the Upper, Middle, and Lower Jiao, with continuous vomiting and retching due to extreme Stomach deficiency. Pulse is deep, cold, wiry, tight, and choppy, empty upon pressure. If pulse is surging, large, and choppy but weak upon pressure, it still indicates middle cold; how much more so if empty upon pressure? Avoid wet noodles, greasy foods, raw/cold items, and toxic substances when taking this medicine.
