The *Huangdi Zhenjing* (Yellow Emperor's Classic of Acupuncture), in the chapter "Shuizhang" (Water Swelling), states: "What is Shijia (Stone Leiomyoma)?" Qibo replied: "Shijia arises in the Baogong (Uterus). Cold pathogen lodges in the Zimen (Cervical Os), causing obstruction of the Zimen, which impedes the flow of Qi. Evil blood (Stagnant Blood) should be discharged but fails to do so, thus remaining and accumulating. Over time, the mass gradually enlarges, resembling pregnancy, and menstruation does not occur on schedule. This disease occurs exclusively in women and can be treated by guiding and purging methods."
The Bladder is the mansion where Body Fluids gather; it can discharge them only through Qi transformation. Now, since cold pathogen lodges in the Zimen, Qi must become obstructed and cease to flow smoothly, while Blood stagnates and fails to circulate, thus remaining and accumulating, condensing into a hardness like stone. This is named Shijia. This disease originates from Qi pathology first and subsequently develops into Blood pathology; therefore, when menstruation is absent, it can be expelled through promoting circulation and guiding methods. The *Nanjing* (Classic of Difficult Issues) states: "When the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel) suffers pathology, there is internal bitter knotting; men develop Seven Types of Hernia, while women develop Jiaju (Abdominal Masses). This refers to such cases." Only potent acrid-hot agents can cure this condition. One may take Jianyue Wan.
[Jianyue Pill] Treats cases where cold pathogen lodges in the Lower Jiao, causing Qi and Blood obstruction leading to Jiaju, characterized by hardness, large size, and persistence over a long period without resolution.
