Patient Qian, aged forty. Since childhood, he had masses arising in the abdomen with frequent pain. Recently, the attacks have become more frequent; abdominal distension occurs after eating, and relief is only achieved after vomiting. Investigating the root cause, this belongs to Liver Wood overacting on Spleen Earth (Liver Qi invading the Spleen and Stomach). The treatment follows the method of unblocking the Yangming [Stomach] and draining the Jueyin [Liver], adhering to the established methods of Ye Tianshi.

Aunt Chai, aged fifty-one. Both pulses are deficient and thin. Pain is centered around the umbilicus, radiating to the chest and hypochondrium, accompanied by fever in the body and coldness in the feet. This indicates deficiency of Yuan Qi (Original Qi) and decline of Yang Qi. The treatment should employ warming and tonifying methods.
