When a wet nurse lies in the wind while drunk and breastfeeds her infant, it causes the infant to lose their voice. The *Baopuzi* states: If a wet nurse drinks excessively and breastfeeds the infant while cooling off in the wind, the pathogenic factors of wind-cold and alcohol toxicity enter the infant's throat via the milk, thus causing aphonia and muteness.

If breastfeeding occurs immediately after coughing, phlegm accumulates and fails to dissipate, leading to obstructed airways and blocked diaphragm, resulting in phlegm-choking accompanied by fright and panting.

Meng stated: Breastfeeding an infant when the mother's emotions are unsettled (between sorrow and joy) will inevitably lead to excessive salivation, coughing, and susceptibility to wind pathogens. The *Baojian* states: When emotions are unsettled, drinking water reverses the flow of Qi; Qi reversal suppresses blood, and blood follows Qi, often resulting in hematemesis.

Whenever an infant is still crying and one uses milk to stop the mouth for feeding, the Qi cannot dissipate, leading to condensation and formation of goiter. Meng stated: When an infant is crying, the lung orifices are open; breastfeeding at this time opposes the flow of Qi, causing Qi to condense and accumulate, often forming scrofula and goiter.

The child's normal physical appearance and demeanor are distinct.
The nose is dry with no discharge, and the throat has no sound or saliva.
The head appears dyed with Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), and the lips are as red as vermilion.
The face is square like flowers reflecting in bamboo, and cheeks bloom like lotus floating on water.
They smile only when prompted, and their hands do not relax at inappropriate times.
Even if they cry, they do not cry much; even if they sleep, they do not sleep long.
Their mind is calm like still waves, and their nature is clear like the sky in a mirror.
Such children are entirely peaceful and auspicious; why worry about diseases recurring?

Eating hot, soft, and small amounts prevents illness; eating cold, hard, and large amounts leads to frequent illness. Endure a third part of coldness, eat until seven-tenths full, frequently rub the abdomen, and bathe less.
The song says:
To keep infants healthy through the four seasons,
Always maintain a sense of slight hunger and cold.
If everyone follows this method,
Naturally, various diseases will not interfere.

The Classics state: On both sides below the third thoracic vertebra lie the Shu points of the Lung (Feishu BL13). If Wind-Cold damages Feishu, causing hair follicles to stand erect and skin pores to close, heat disease ensues. Symptoms may include cough, asthma, vomiting, hiccups, regurgitation, chest fullness, aversion to cold with high fever. These are all caused by Cold invading the Lung Meridian; therefore, the back must be kept warm.

Common saying: The abdomen should not have coldness. The abdomen refers to the Stomach, which is the Sea of Water and Grain. If cold, food cannot rot and transform, leading to borborygmus, abdominal pain, vomiting, hiccups, and diarrhea. The Classics state: Only with Stomach Heat can grains be digested, ensuring appetite; therefore, the abdomen must be kept warm.
