Children may suffer from a disease called "White Tiger" (Baihu), which must not be overlooked. According to the *Tongtian Li Younian Tu* (Chart of Annual Traveling Years in the Tongtian Calendar): The White Tiger is located one Earthly Branch position preceding the Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter). For instance, if the Tai Sui is in Si (Snake), then the White Tiger is in Chen (Dragon); if the Tai Sui is in Shen (Monkey), then the White Tiger is in Wei (Goat), and so on. When a child is in the direction governed by the White Tiger deity, if they are unaware of taboos and enter or reside there, even slight exposure or offense can cause illness. The manifestations include slight fever, occasional chills, crying and calling out, flexing fingers as if counting, and mild twitching of the hands and feet.

The symptoms manifest as alternating cold and heat, sallow emaciation, hollow bones with hair loss, and progressive wasting. The chest is high, swollen, and protruding, resembling a turtle shell. This results from Lung pathogenic invasion causing chronic asthma. It may also arise from the nursing mother consuming excessive "Five Pungents" (Wu Xin: five pungent spices/vegetables), which transmits influence to the infant. The back is high and hunched. This occurs when Wind-Cold invades the spinal column, or due to sitting too early, often becoming a chronic stubborn disease. Occasionally, moxibustion yields success.
