For releasing the exterior, Fangfeng, Mahuang, Bohe, Jingjie, and Chuanxiong are used; for resolving the interior, Shigao, Huashi, Huangqin, Zhizi, and Lianqiao are used; additionally, Danggui and Shaoyao harmonize the blood, while Jiegeng, Baizhu, and Gancao regulate the qi. When Ying (nutritive) and Wei (defensive) are harmonized, and both exterior and interior are unobstructed, it is called Double Resolution. The name Tongsheng San (Unimpeded Sage Powder) of this formula emphasizes its miraculous efficacy.
