Use earth wasp nests. Those containing larvae: 1 liang. Snake skin: 1 strip. Wrap in mud and calcine by fire, preserving its medicinal properties. Grind into powder. Mix well. Take 2 qian each time, washed down with boiling water.
If a Ding sore is caused by mistakenly eating pork leading to "Zouhuang", it is considered incurable by standard methods. Urgently crush banana root to extract juice and administer orally; this can save the patient.
(Treats Ding sores growing on the lips, corners of the mouth, or upper and lower lips. It is most appropriate to treat quickly. Otherwise, the fire toxin will be blazing, making eating difficult. Patients often die from rotting and ulceration. Also treats Ding sores on the head and face.)
Viola yedoensis (Zihua Diding) and Honeysuckle Flower (Jinyinhua) (each 1 liang), White Fruit (Baiguo) (20 pieces), Platycodon Root (Jiegeng), Raw Licorice Root (Sheng Gancao), and Anemarrhena Rhizome (Zhimu) (each 3 qian).
Decoct in water and take orally. For those not yet ulcerated, take 3 doses; for those already ulcerated, take 5 doses, until effective.
One method for treating various Ding toxic sores, as well as carbuncles and furuncles with swelling and toxicity at the initial stage: Use white chrysanthemum flowers, one whole plant including roots (cleaned of mud). Dandelion root (if no leaves are available, use the root...).
One method for treating Ding swelling with flowing fire, and all external injuries with redness, swelling, and pain: Select shiny black coal lumps, grind into extremely fine powder, mix with aged vinegar for topical application. If it dries, frequently moisten it.
