(Treats Ding sores (carbuncles with a deep root). The pain is extremely severe. This also belongs to Yang syndromes (diseases characterized by heat, excess, and exterior manifestations). However, it is difficult to distinguish at the initial stage. Chew raw soybeans; if one cannot smell the fishy or foul odor, it indicates Ding toxin. The sore head must present as a yellow blister, sometimes showing a purple-black color in the center, requiring careful observation. There must be a red-white line within the blister extending outward. Generally, when Ding appears on the foot, the red line enters from the foot to the umbilicus; when on the hand, it enters from the hand to the heart; when on the lip, it enters from the lip to the throat. If this endpoint of the red line is seen, use the edge of a porcelain shard to prick out the toxic blood, preventing the toxin from attacking the heart. The white line need not be pricked.)
Chrysanthemi Flos (Gan Ju Hua), Violae Herba (Zi Hua Di Ding) (each 1 liang)
Decoct in water and take one dose orally. The red-white line recedes. After two doses, the Ding toxin dissipates. After three doses, complete recovery occurs. For cases that have already ulcerated, use this formula as well, adding Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Dang Gui) 2 liang.
(Treats all types of colored Ding sores. At the onset, there may be a small white head, accompanied by itching or numbness, aversion to cold with fever, and symptoms such as wandering Ding toxin (Zou Huang - spreading infection), sinking into unconsciousness, vomiting, and nausea.)
Swartjack Bean Pod (Zhu Ya Zao) (chopped and ground into fine powder), Alum (Bai Fan) (raw and ground extremely fine, each 3 qian), Dried Toad Secretion (Zhen Gan Chan Su) (1 liang, sliced)
First, soften the Toad Secretion by soaking it in distilled flower liquor. Add the powders of Alum and Swartjack Bean Pod, mix evenly, and pound into pills the size of mung beans. Dry them and store. Take one pill per dose.
Lishui Fish Eye (Shi Yu Ye) (a specific medicinal part), pinch off with hands without exposing to water, dry in shade and store. When using, open the Ding head with a silver needle and paste a piece onto it. (Text incomplete here, resumes with "complete treatment"). Another method uses Cinnabar (Yin Zhu) and Chicken Droppings (Lan Ji Shi) each 1 qian, Lychee Meat (Li Zhi Rou) and Mume Fruit (Wu Mei Rou) each 10 pieces, Snails (Wo Niu) 10. First apply Moschus (She Xiang) to the Ding opening, then... (Text truncated)
