Discourse states: The *Neijing* (Classic of Internal Medicine) mentions that there is a condition presenting with swelling in the chest and neck, chest fullness, and abdominal distension, named Jue Ni (Jue-Ni, reversal cold or qi rebellion). When Yin and Yang ascend and descend in harmony, Qi flows smoothly; however, if the upper part is excess and the lower part is deficient, Qi becomes rebellious and adverse. Currently, Yang Qi is excessive in the upper body and depressed between the chest and abdomen, resulting in swelling of the chest and neck, chest fullness, and abdominal distension, thereby forming a syndrome of Qi rebellion. The treatment method should not employ moxibustion, nor needle-stone therapy; only by harmonizing and smoothing Yin and Yang, so that ascent and descent are unobstructed, will the disease heal itself.
To treat Jue-Ni disease where the Sanjiao (Triple Burner) is disharmonious, with obstruction of ascent and descent, manifesting as neck pain, chest swelling, chest fullness, and abdominal distension. Tiao Zhong Wan (Regulating the Middle Pill) Formula:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang), Chi Fu Ling (Poria Cocos with Red Skin, black skin removed), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix, chopped and stir-fried), Ju Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white pith removed and baked), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, pounded with ginger juice into cakes and dried), Chen Xiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen, chopped), Huo Xiang Ye (Agastachis Folium) (each 1 liang).
The above nine ingredients are crushed, sifted into fine powder, mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of Sophora seeds. Take 30 pills per dose, administered with warm ginger decoction, at any time.
To treat Jue-Ni causing Sanjiao disharmony, and Spleen bone Qi attacking the head and face causing flaccid edema, panting, anxiety, and abdominal fullness. Ren Shen Tang (Ginseng Decoction) Formula:
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Chi Fu Ling (Poria Cocos with Red Skin, black skin removed), Hou Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, coarse bark removed, stir-fried through with ginger juice), Zi Su Zi (Perillae Fructus, stir-fried), Da Fu Pi (Arecae Pericarpium), Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex, chopped), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen, chopped) (each 1 liang), Chen Ju Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white pith removed and baked), Fang Ji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix) (each 1.5 liang).
The above nine ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take 5 qian bi (approx. 5-7g) per dose, with one sheng (approx. 200ml) of water, one piece of smashed ginger, and three stalks of cut scallion white. Decoct until reduced to 8/10. Strain and take warm on an empty stomach.

Zi Su Zi (Perillae Fructus, stir-fried), Chen Ju Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white pith removed and baked), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Chi Fu Ling (Poria Cocos with Red Skin, black skin removed), Hou Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, coarse bark removed, stir-fried through with ginger juice), Sheng [Jiang] (Fresh Ginger, text implies missing ingredient or formatting error, listed as part of 8 ingredients).
The above eight ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take 3 qian bi per dose, with 1.5 sheng of water. Decoct until reduced to 1 sheng. Strain and take warm, three times daily.

The above five ingredients are coarsely crushed and sieved. Take 3 qian bi per dose, with one sheng of water. Decoct until reduced to 7/10. Strain and take warm on an empty stomach.
