Discussion: The manifestations of Rou Feng (Soft Wind) include the inability to control or contract the four limbs, and stiffness preventing supine posture. This is due to the deficiency of both Qi and Blood, allowing Wind pathogen to invade. If the Wind pathogen affects the Yang aspect and battles on the exterior, the skin becomes flaccid; if it invades the Yin aspect and penetrates the interior, abdominal tension and pain occur.
Treatment for Rou Feng causing body pain, flaccidity and weakness of the four limbs, and difficulty rising/moving. Also treats postpartum stroke (Chan Hou Zhong Feng) resulting in loss of limb control. Qiang Huo Tang (Notopterygium Decoction):

The above seven herbs are coarsely crushed and sifted. Take five qianbi per dose, with one ladle of clear wine and one ladle of water. Add half a qianbi of finely chopped fresh ginger. Decoct until one ladle remains, strain, and take warm. Twice daily, once at night.
Treatment for Rou Feng causing loss of limb control, and Hong Xiang Jiao (Hong Kong Foot/Charcot Joint/Foot Drop due to wind-toxin) making walking impossible. Bing Lang Tang (Areca Seed Decoction):
Bing Lang (Semen Arecae, roasted seven pieces, chopped), Hei Dou (Semen Sojae Preparatum, small beans roasted two sheng), Sang Bai Pi (Cortex Morus Radicis, roasted and chopped two liang), Yu Li Ren (Semen Pruni, remove peel and tip, lightly roasted half liang).
Take warm. [Note: Original text lacks specific decoction instructions here].
Treatment for Rou Feng causing body pain and spontaneous sweating. Shi Gao San (Gypsum Powder):
Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum, separately ground into powder one liang), Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae, roasted and chopped three fen).
The above two herbs are ground and sifted into a powder. Take one qianbi per dose, mixed with warm wine. Four times daily, at any time.

The above three herbs are ground into fine powder. Use two liang of white flour and one liang of raw Fu Zi (Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata, peeled and de-navelled, ground into powder). Boil together with wine to form a paste. Form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take twenty pills per dose before meals with warm wine.
Treatment for Rou Feng causing weak legs and knees, long-standing wind-toxin rushing upward causing shoulder, chest, and back pain. Postpartum stroke in women. Xian Ren Zhang Infused Wine (Immortal Staff Infusion):
Xian Ren Zhang Gen (Root of Imperatae Rhizoma? Note: Text clarifies this is actually Gou Qi Gen Bai Pi / Cortex Lycii Radicis, one jin four liang, scraped clean of soil and outer bark, chopped).
Place the single herb in a raw silk bag. Infuse in two dou of wine for seven days. Drink one ladle warm daily, gradually increasing to two ladles, at any time. When wine is nearly finished, add five sheng more and infuse again as before. Also treats all kinds of heat-toxic wind.

Of the above eight herbs, select the five branches growing towards the east and south. Chop them finely like bean grains. Grind Qiang Huo and Fang Feng into powder. Spread black beans evenly in a steamer. Place the five branches in a pot to make soup, then transfer to the steamer to steam over the beans until beans are cooked. Remove beans. The soup in the pot should be about one dou. Boil the soup in the pot until reduced by two-thirds. Add the powders of Fang Feng and Qiang Huo and continue boiling until thick like syrup. Take half a spoonful mixed with warm wine when fasting and before sleep, increasing to one spoonful. For women's blood-wind, this decoction is miraculous. Wrap the remaining dregs in cloth while hot. After taking medicine nightly, apply hot compress to affected areas for quick effect. If cold, mix with wine and stir-fry hot before use.

The above four herbs: chop three herbs finely. Cook with beans in one dou five sheng of wine until beans are soft. Strain and take juice. Add Tian Ma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae) and Xiong Dui (Radix Leonuri? Note: Text says "Xiong", likely Xiong Dui/San Ji or similar, but context suggests a root/rhizome, possibly Xiong Dui or typo for something else. Given "Ge Wu Liang", likely a standard herb. Let's assume Xiong Dui or similar based on "Xiong". Actually, looking at common formulas, it might be Xiong Dui or just a typo. I will translate as "Xiong" as per text, likely referring to a specific root). Each five liang.
Total six herbs. Grind the last two into powder. Mix with the bean decoction and boil until thick like syrup. Take one spoonful mixed with hot water or warm wine when fasting daily.

Treatment for Rou Feng causing tendon and bone pain, curling of hands and feet. Liu Fen Yu (Willow Manure Compress):
Liu Fen (Willow manure, two sheng).
Steam the single herb in a steamer for the duration of cooking a meal. If Willow manure is unavailable, use five dou of soybeans, steam until cooked, spread on bed, cover with old padded jacket, and have patient lie on it to steam/compress the affected area.
