Discourse states: Ocular deviation (strabismus) occurs due to deficiency of the Zang-Fu organs, where wind pathogen pulls the eyeball, causing misalignment. Consequently, the pupil tilts obliquely, resulting in biased vision. This condition may be present since childhood or manifest later in life, generally arising from Qi and Blood deficiency compounded by wind pathogen invasion. The *Longmu Lun* records remedies for dispelling wind-heat and agents for massage and eye drops. It further states that if polyps are present, hook-and-cut surgery should be used; if the upper and lower eyelids are red and twitching, acupuncture points should be needled. These situations must be carefully examined.

Simmer gently over medium-low heat for half a day, then gradually increase heat to rapid boiling until the Ecliptae Herba Juice is consumed and no longer bubbling. Filter through cotton cloth when cool, and store in an oil-proof porcelain bottle. At night before sleep, take half a spoonful with an iron spoon and smear thinly on the vertex. Massage the vertex with the iron spoon until the medicinal power dissipates and enters the hair follicles, gradually penetrating into the brain. One will suddenly feel coolness in both temporal acupoints. The medicinal qi enters the eyes via the fontanelle, naturally retreating internal black wind and heat toxins. Recovery occurs within ten days. Apply this ointment every three nights. This ointment also treats Kidney wind-toxin rushing to the Brain House (Naohu), where brain fat flows down causing internal cataracts, as well as dim vision, red eyes, wind-eye, and chronic cold/heat tearing.
