Commentary states: The *Huangdi Neijing* (Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon) asserts that Bi syndrome caused by excessive dampness is termed Zhuo Bi (Fixed Bi). Dampness from the earth, when it invades and harms the skin, flesh, sinews, and vessels, belongs to the Earth element. The nature of Earth is slow and sluggish; Ying Qi (Nutritive Qi) and Wei Qi (Defensive Qi) remain stagnant along with the dampness. Therefore, when dampness is excessive, the pathogenic factor adheres firmly and does not shift. Its manifestations often include profuse sweating and moist skin, which indicates an excess of Yin Qi. Treatment should focus on dispelling cold-dampness and unblocking the meridians, after which the disease will resolve.
For Cold-Damp Bi syndrome where the pathogen adheres and does not disperse, causing numbness in the four limbs, weakness and spasms in the legs, or pain preventing walking, swelling of the dorsum pedis extending up to the knees, hardness in the lower abdomen, and loss of appetite: Shihu San (Dendrobium Powder).
