It is stated that feeling hungry shortly after eating is known as Wei Dan (Stomach Jaundice). When the stomach is hot, it can digest food. The fact that one feels hungry immediately after eating indicates that the stomach qi possesses only heat pathogen and lacks yin fluids. When the Yangming channel receives heat, heart fire ascends, causing an excess of yang fire. Consequently, symptoms such as hunger sensation after eating, mental restlessness (xin fan), yellowing of the body and face, and dark red urine occur.
