Discussion: "Phlegm in the Diaphragm, Wind-Jue Headache" refers to a condition where phlegm accumulates above the diaphragm, preventing Qi from descending. When combined with an external contraction of Wind-Cold, Wind and Phlegm bind together, causing Qi to rebel and ascend. This rebellious Qi attacks the head, resulting in headache, which may persist for several years. If the pain extends to the brain, it is because Wind-Cold has penetrated into the bone marrow.
