Discussion: All Qi disorders are attributed to the Lung. The Lung is located above the diaphragm, governs the movement of Yang Qi, and facilitates respiration. In individuals suffering from Xu Lao (Deficiency Consumption), internal injury to the Lung leads to a deficiency of Yang Qi, resulting in weak respiration and shortness of breath where one cannot catch their breath. Treatment should focus on tonifying the Lung organ to unblock Yang Qi.
