Discourse states: Huoluan (cholera-like syndrome) arises from the chaotic interaction of cold and heat pathogens within the intestines and stomach. When these pathogens contend with the Yin meridians, it results in abdominal pain and borborygmus, thus forming the disease of Huoluan with diarrhea. Specifically, red stool indicates heat, while white stool indicates cold. If cold and heat contend with each other, red and white substances are discharged together; if cold is severe, the stool turns greenish-black; if the condition persists, symptoms of tendon twitching (muscle spasms) may develop.
