It is discussed that wind pathogen invades the Yin aspect and originates in the five Zang organs. The presentation involves sudden loss of consciousness, rattling sounds in the throat, tongue stiffness with inability to speak, flaccidity of the body accompanied by sweating. If the areas under the eyes and on both sides of the philtrum appear white, the prognosis is treatable; if one side is black and the other red, with frothy saliva, absence of sweating, and rigidity of the body, it indicates a fatal outcome. This is because wind pathogen enters the Yin aspect and is borne by the Zang Qi (vital energy of the Zang organs). Wind pathogen contends with Blood and Qi, causing stagnation and obstruction in the meridians, preventing the harmonious movement of Yin and Yang Qi, and blocking the flow of Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) Qi, thus resulting in closed eyes and unconsciousness. The throat serves as the passage for Qi; since Qi flow is obstructed, rattling sounds occur in the throat. Flaccidity and sweating indicate the unblocking of the exterior and interior, relaxation of sinews and vessels, and recovery of Yang Qi, hence it is treatable.
Treatment for Wind causing tongue stiffness, aphasia, coma, and throat sounds: Duhuo Decoction (Angelicae Pubescentis Decoction).

The above five herbs. Coarsely grind and sieve the first four, mix with Gegen. Take 5 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, 5 slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), decoct until 0.8 zhan remains, strain and take warm. Three times daily, once at night.
Treatment for Wind pathogen entering the Zang, flaccidity of the four limbs, loss of sensation, aphasia, and insensitivity to pain and itch: Mahuang Decoction (Ephedra Decoction).
