Discussion states: Gu Zheng Lei Shou (a consumptive disease characterized by bone-steaming fever and emaciation), regardless of gender, is caused by the imbalance of Qi and Blood, combined with Wu Lao Qi Shang (five labors and seven injuries, referring to various causes of physical depletion). Symptoms include fullness and oppression in the chest and heart, vexing pain in the back and shoulders, blurred vision, weakness in the four limbs, restless sleep, stiffness and pain in the spine and loins, soreness and pain in the knees and shins, a preference for lying down over rising, symptoms resembling feigned illness.
