Treating sudden death without a pulse and no other clinical manifestations, which is due to the exhaustion of both Yin and Yang. The treatment prescription is as follows:
Hold a cow above the patient's nose for two hundred breaths; if the cow licks the patient, they will surely recover. If the cow refuses to lick, apply salt juice to the patient's face, and the cow will then lick.
Another prescription: Squeeze the juice from fresh cow or horse manure and drink it. If fresh manure is unavailable, mix dried manure with water. (The *Zhou Hou Fang* states: Dried manure should be dissolved in human urine; this is Bian Que's method).
Another prescription: Apply heat using a hot ironing tool to the area under both hypochondria. (The *Bei Ji Fang* states: It also treats corpse-like coma [Shi Jue]).
Acupuncture and Moxibustion Methods:
Needle the Neiguan (PC6) point, retaining the needle for approximately one hundred breaths. Also, moxa the Renzhong (GV26) point located below the nose, which is also known as Guike Ting. (The *Zhou Hou Fang* states: It also treats corpse-like coma [Shi Jue]).
Prescription for treating death due to nightmare-induced unconsciousness:
Exercise caution with lights and fires; do not allow others to move the patient's hands. Holding a cow above the patient will induce awakening. If the patient suddenly loses the ability to speak, take chicken heads from the east gate, grind them into powder, and administer with wine.
Prescription for treating sudden death due to nightmare:
Crush Chinese chive (*Jiu Cai*, Allii Tuberosi Rhizoma et Radix) to extract juice and instill it into the nostrils. In severe cases, instill into both ears. (Zhang Zhongjing states: Instill into the mouth).

Another prescription: Grind Soap Bean (*Zao Jia*, Gleditsiae Fructus Spinosa) into powder, take an amount the size of a soybean, and insufflate it into the nostrils. Sneezing will restore Qi circulation, bringing the dead back to life. (The *Ji Yan Fang* states: It treats sudden attack by evil pathogens [Zhong E]).
