Crush and sieve the above eleven ingredients to make a powder. Grind and mix thoroughly. Take one cun bi (a measure of volume approx. 2-3 grams) on an empty stomach daily, three times a day. Administer with 2 he of well water drawn at dawn. If warm, take in one dose. Do not inhale the odor closely. It is best taken with white rice porridge. Improvement is indicated by the relief of dysuria or urinary difficulty. When preparing the medicine, do not let women, children, chickens, or dogs see it. Avoid hot noodles, fruits, five pungent spices (Wu Xin), alcohol, meat, blood products, and raw green onions.
Another formula for treating wasting diseases (Lei Bing) and Fulian disease, avoiding various evil qi and malignant zhu, is the Cinnabar Pill (Zhusha Wan).
Bright Cinnabar (Zhusha), 1 da liang; Peach kernel (Taoren), 10 pieces, remove skin and pointed ends, use double-kernel ones, stir-fry; Musk (Shexiang), 3 fen, ground.
Grind the Cinnabar and Musk into fine powder separately. Pound the peach kernels until they resemble paste. Mix and combine to form pills the size of a wutong seed. If the mixture does not bind well, add a small amount of honey to help form the pills. Take seven pills with clear water, twice daily. Discontinue if diarrhea occurs. Avoid blood products. (Both from Volume 14)
Cui's method for resolving Fulian disease.
First, find a gourd that has no opening. Bury it in the ground. After it has been exposed to sunlight, retrieve it. Boil and extract three spoons of fat/lard, mix it into congee, and place it inside the gourd. Cut paper money and take it to a new grave. Have the sick child face the direction of home while sitting with their back to the grave. Surround the grave and the patient with the paper money and new hemp thread in a circle. Take a small amount of additional paper money and surround the outer area; ask five passersby to each hold two lock-shaped clappers and tap the patient's back. The incantation is: "Fulian, Fulian, resolve. Fulian, Fulian, do not resolve. Knife-lock, resolve." Another incantation: "The living hold the earth above, the dead ghosts hold the earth below. The living and the dead shall take different paths." After the incantation, have an uninfected person throw the two lock-clappers behind the patient. They must end up back-to-back. If not, retrieve and throw again until they are back-to-back. Then return together without looking back. Take something exposed to the sun, and have the patient ride on the cart ruts outside the city wall, facing the city gate. Pour three sheng of water around the patient, surrounded by three layers of ash. Make seven pancakes that cannot be flipped over, and offer them to the General Wudao. Incantation: "Heavenly gate open, earthly door closed. Living and dead take different paths. On this day of separation, release and return." After the incantation, return home without turning your head. This method is very effective. (From Volume 7)
Wenzhong's treatment for Fulian disease. This disease originates from extreme exhaustion and alternating heat, connecting continuously, hence named Fulian. It is also called Bone Steaming Chuan Shi. Recently, this formula has been very effective.

Place the above four ingredients in a porcelain bottle, seal tightly, and place in a room. After fourteen days, they will completely dissolve and lose any foul odor. Take one da he every morning. Two doses are sufficient for recovery. When preparing the medicine, ensure cleanliness and burn incense. Do not let women, children, females, chickens, dogs, or mourners see it. (From Volume 1)
