The *Guangji Fang* treats flaccid paralysis wind and various wind diseases, resulting in the inability to move hands and feet at will and weakness in the waist and legs.
Donkey-hide gelatin (Wu liang, roasted until slightly bubbling).
Take the above single ingredient. First, cook a leek and fermented soybean porridge with one sheng of water, and set it aside separately. Then, take two he of fragrant light fermented soybeans, add one sheng of water, boil the beans, remove the dregs, add the gelatin, and boil for six or seven boils. When the gelatin melts like syrup, take it all at once while warm. Subsequently, eat the previously prepared leek and fermented soybean porridge, in any amount desired. If vomiting or nausea occurs, stop after taking three or four doses. The wind disease will be cured. Avoid hot noodles, roasted meat, pork, fish, and garlic.
Another formula treats recurrent flaccid paralysis caused by heat wind.
Qianghuo (Er jin) Guzi (Yi sheng wu he, select those that sink in water).
Crush and sieve the above two ingredients into powder. Take one fang cun bi with wine, three times a day, gradually increasing the dose. No dietary restrictions apply. (Both from Volume I)
Wen Zhong's formula for treating flaccid paralysis wind.
Sheng Dihuang Zhi (Fresh Rehmannia Juice) Dan Zhuli (Light Bamboo Sap) Jing Li (Cocculus Spike Sap) (Each Yi sheng) Fangfeng (Si fen) Duhuo (Ba fen) Fuzi (One medium-sized, regular piece, processed).
Cut the three medicinal herbs among the above six ingredients. Mix them with the juices of Sheng Dihuang, etc., and boil to obtain half a sheng of liquid. Remove the dregs. Take divided twice on an empty stomach, keeping warm afterwards. Take one dose every other day. If deficient, take one dose every three days. This can eradicate the root of the disease; it is highly effective. Avoid pork and Coriander. (Biji Fang also from Volume VIII)
Yuan Shilang Xisheng collected a divine and effective formula for treating flaccid paralysis wind.
Cizi (Yi liang, peeled) Wujia Baipi (Si liang) Cishi (Yi jin, wrapped in silk) Gan Juhua (Yi jin) Han Fangji Lingyangjiao (Crushed) Xingren (Peeled and tipped) Yiyiren (Yi sheng) Fangfeng Xiong.
Cut the above fifteen ingredients. Use twelve dou of water, first boil Mahuang, remove the foam on top, then add all other herbs and decoct. Obtain three sheng of liquid. Divide into three warm doses. The interval between doses should be the time it takes to walk ten li. After regulating until sweating is complete, apply powder and avoid wind. Be cautious with hot foods and pork, fish, garlic, and alcohol. (From Volume I)
The manifestation of Fengfei in *Zhubing Yuanhou Lun*: The body has no pain, the four limbs cannot be controlled, consciousness is clear and not confused, but one arm cannot move at will; this is Fengfei. If the patient can speak, it is treatable; if they cannot speak, it is untreatable. (From Volume I)
*Qianjin Fang* formula for treating Fengfei. Fengfei refers to the sudden inability to speak, lockjaw, and hands and feet unable to move at will without stiffness.
Fulonggan (Wu sheng, powdered) Lengshui (Ba sheng) mix and stir, take the juice to drink; finishing it is best. (Fan Wang's formula also mainly treats Zhong'e, from Volume VIII)
*Gujin Luyan* Xizhou Xuming Tang, treats stroke Fengfei. Symptoms include the body being unable to control itself, inability to speak, mental confusion and not recognizing people, unawareness of painful areas, only feeling spasm and pain inside and out, inability to turn over or change position; this formula treats all these conditions.
Mahuang (Liu liang, remove joints) Shigao (Si liang, crushed and wrapped in silk) Guixin Danggui Gancao (Roasted, each Er liang) Xiong Ganjiang Huangqin (Each Yi liang) Xingren (Forty pieces, peeled and tipped, double-kernel).
Cut the above nine ingredients. Use nineteen sheng of water, first boil Mahuang until it boils again, blow off the foam, then add the other herbs. Boil to obtain four sheng. Initially take one sheng. If the patient can regain some self-awareness, do not sleep deeply. Cover thickly, wait for slight sweating, then gradually reduce clothing coverage, do not cover excessively. If ineffective, take again until cured. Refer to Hu Qia, Jiyan, Wen Zhong, Zhouhou Qianjin for previous administration methods.
Another Xuming Tang treats stroke Fengfei. Symptoms include the body being unable to control itself, inability to speak, mental confusion and not recognizing people, unawareness of painful areas, or spasm preventing turning over. Yao states this is the same as Da Xuming Tang. It also treats postpartum women who have lost large amounts of blood, as well as the elderly and children.
Gancao (Roasted) Guixin Danggui Renshen Shigao (Crushed and wrapped in silk) Ganjiang (Each Er liang) Mahuang (San liang, remove joints) Xiong (Yi liang) Xingren (Forty pieces, peeled and tipped, double-kernel).
Cut the above nine ingredients. Use one dou of water, boil to obtain four sheng. Take one sheng; there should be slight sweating. Cover the back thinly, sit leaning against a table; when sweat appears, the illness heals. Do not take more.
Regarding the condition, the number of sheng of water used, and the amount obtained are the same. Wang states: This is Zhang Zhongjing's formula, originally missing two ingredients. (From Volume VIII)
