The *Guangji Fang* (Broad Rescue Prescriptions) method for treating spider bites.
Take *Shengtieyi* (rust from iron), grind it with vinegar, and apply the juice to the affected area until healed. (Also recorded in *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* / *Emergency Prescriptions Kept Up the Sleeve*)
Additionally, for spider bites that develop into sores and do not heal despite frequent treatment:
Take *Luomo Cao* (Herba Asclepiadis / Milkweed herb), pound it into a paste, and apply it as a poultice to the site. Apply two to three times daily. When the toxin turns into pus and drains, continue the treatment without stopping.
Another prescription:
*Zaoye* (Leaf of Jujube Tree), *Baiye* (Cupressi Cacumen / Cypress Twig) (harvested on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month and dried in the shade), *Shengtieyi* (Iron Rust), *Wancansha* (Semen Bombycis / Silkworm Feces).
Pound these four ingredients in equal parts into a powder. Mix with raw hemp oil (*Shengmayou*) to form a paste. First, moxa-burn the bitten area, then apply the paste until healed. (All sourced from Volume 5)
The *Qianjin Fang* (Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold) method for treating spider bites.
Mix black sesame oil (*Wumayou*) and *Hufen* (Basic Lead Carbonate / White Lead) into a paste and apply to the affected area. Replace when dry, and stop when healed. (Also found in Volume 26 of *Zhouhou Beiji Fang*)
The *Beiji Fang* (Emergency Prescriptions) method for treating spider bites.
Pound fresh *Yangtao Ye* (Leaves of Alchornea or similar medicinal leaves) and apply as a compress for immediate relief. (Also recorded in *Zhouhou Beiji Fang*)
Another prescription:
Cut garlic cloves in half and rub them on the wound. Alternatively, rub garlic against the ground to collect mud, and apply this mixture to the site. (Also found in *Wenzhong Fang*, sourced from Volume 8)
The *Zhouhou Beiji Fang* method for treating bee stings.
Wash the affected area with fresh human urine until healed. (Also recorded in *Beiji Fang*, *Wenzhong Fang*, and the abridged version of *Bixiao Fang*)
Another prescription:
Chop *Gumu* (Wood of Grain Tree) to extract its white sap and apply it. Mulberry sap is also effective. (Also recorded in *Beiji Fang*, *Wenzhong Fang*, *Duanju Fang*, and *Gujin Luyan*)
Another prescription:
Boil honeycomb (*Fengfang*), wash the area with the water, or burn the honeycomb to ash, mix with ointment, and apply. (Also in *Qianjin Fang*; this source notes burning sheep horn ash mixed with vinegar can also be used)
Another prescription:
Scrape dental calculus (*Chigou*) and apply it to the site. (Also recorded in *Beiji Fang*, *Wenzhong Fang*, and *Qianjin Fang*)
The *Qianjin Fang* method for treating bee stings.
Honey (*Mifeng*, 5 he), beeswax (*La*, 2 liang), lard (*Zhuzhi*, 5 he).
Simmer these three ingredients together to form an ointment. Allow to cool and apply to the affected area; it is very effective. (One variant suggests consuming it in small amounts)
Another prescription:
Pour pure vinegar onto the ground, take the resulting mud, and apply it to the site.
Another prescription:
Apply mud mixed with urine to the site.
Another prescription:
Take snake skin, coat it with honey, heat it, and apply it to the sting site for effectiveness. Alternatively, coat the snake skin with soy sauce, heat it, and apply as a seal; this is highly effective. (All sourced from Volume 26)
The *Bixiao Fang* (Effective Prescriptions) method for treating bee stings.
