[Pathogenesis] The etiology of "Wind-induced Numbness" (Feng Bu Ren) lies in the deficiency of Ying Qi (Nutritive Qi) and the excess of Wei Qi (Defensive Qi). When Wind-Cold pathogens invade the muscles, they obstruct the smooth circulation and flow of Blood and Qi. The clinical manifestation is characterized by a sensation of numbness when scratching the skin, as if feeling through clothing.

Fourth Prescription: Xi Jiao Wan (Rhinoceros Horn Pill). Symptoms migrate without a fixed location, accompanied by limb numbness, traction pain in the waist and back, abdominal distension and fullness, heart pain with rebellious Qi, chest fullness preventing eating, shortness of breath, alternating chills and fever with emaciation, frequent nightmares resembling interaction with spirits, and coughing up pus and blood. This prescription treats all these conditions.
