The *Qianjin Fang* treats malignant wind-toxic qi (pathogenic wind and toxic qi), weakness and lack of strength in the legs, stubborn numbness and bi-syndrome (painful obstruction syndrome), insensibility of the four limbs, aphonia (loss of voice) inability to speak, and toxic qi rushing to the heart. If a patient presents with any of these symptoms, they should take this medicine immediately. The first dose uses Mahuang Tang (Ephedra Decoction), followed sequentially by the second, third, and fourth formulas.
