It treats persistent chest oppression due to Lung Heat, urgent wheezing in the chest, palpitations, wandering pathogenic heat causing a sensation of impending death, and conditions where medication cannot be taken; this formula vents wheezing qi from the chest. Taopi (Peach Bark, 桃皮) and Yuanhua (Genkwa Flos, 芫花) (mixed with Bashi, Crotonis Fructus Resin, 巴霜) are made into pills with ginger juice, wrapped in Tangerine Peel (Chenpi, 橘皮), and stuffed into the nasal cavity.

Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 附子) decoction is applied to the feet.
When smelling medicine induces vomiting and all treatments fail: Take Zaoxin Tu (Caolisti Argilla, 灶心土) from home (those bought in pharmacies are often fake and ineffective), make into pills with water, and stuff into both nostrils to stop vomiting immediately.
Ming Xionghuang (Realgar, 明雄黄) (2 qian) and Shaojiu (Baijiu, 烧酒) (1 cup) are boiled down to 70%. The patient should urgently inhale the steam to stop symptoms. The patient inhales the hot steam while fresh ginger is rubbed externally on the chest for efficacy.
