Burns (Huoshao Chuang)
Fire, as a substance, possesses the most violent nature; it can burn all things to ashes in an instant. How much more so for humans? Severe cases may lead to death, while mild cases result in scorched skin and curled flesh, with unbearable pain.
Countless methods and prescriptions cannot avoid this suffering. I have an experienced formula. Although it originates from books, I sigh that people have not inherited its true transmission. The method of preparation and application involves: internally taking medicines to drain fire toxins, and externally applying this medicine to stop pain immediately. The formula is presented below.
Scalds (Tangtang Chuang)
Rolling water, boiling oil, hot porridge, and other substances often cause harm to people, leading to rotting skin and flesh turning into sores. This is not caused by abnormalities in human Qi and Blood. Severe cases can also be fatal. One should observe the severity. Whether burned by fireworks or scalded by bathing in hot pools, all use this formula, without exception in efficacy. The formula is seen later, infallible.
Mumps-like Sores / Parotid Sores (Hansai Chuang)
In adults and children, malnutrition and food stagnation manifest on the cheeks. Initially, small sores appear like rice-grain-sized pimples, which then gradually enlarge, eroding and breaking down the cheek tissue, hence the name "Hansai Chuang" (Sores Containing the Cheek). If not treated early, once broken through, treatment becomes particularly difficult. Urgently use the Erjin San formula: grind equal parts of Ji Neijin (Chicken Gizzard Membrane) and Yujin (Curcuma Longa Rhizome) into powder. First, rinse the area clean with salt water, then apply the medicine topically for effectiveness.
Fissured Sores (Zoulie Chuang)
For those engaged in arduous labor such as boating and cart-pushing, as well as fishermen, dyers, and jade grinders, the skin on hands and feet cracks and forms sores, attracting bleeding and causing intolerable pain. First, wash the area with a decoction of Digupi (Phellodendron Bark) and Baifan (Alum) until soft. Then, refine wax and sheep fat, add one qian of Qingfen (Calomel), and apply topically. Repeatedly verified and effective; worth cherishing.
Lacquer Dermatitis (Qichuang)
When humans are exposed to the toxic fumes of raw lacquer, the entire body swells, and sores resembling prickly heat appear, feeling like fire stings. The skin becomes dry and irritated. Within three to five days, compared to wind-heat sores, the distinction lies in whether there is pain or itching. Externally, wash with a decoction of Liu Ye (Willow Leaf) three to five times, and apply Xiehuang (Crab Roe/Yolk). Internally, drink one to two bowls of Xiangyou (Sesame Oil) to achieve relief.
