Spider Herpes (Zhu Zhi Chuang)
This lesion arises between the skin layers. It resembles a water vesicle, presents with a pale red color and pain, and typically clusters in groups of five to seven, capable of spreading. One may rub the affected area with Ramie stem (*Boehmeria nivea* stem) to rupture the vesicles and release fluid.
Subsequently, burn the ramie to ash, grind it into powder, and sprinkle it onto the lesion for cure.
Yang Damp-Phlegm Ulcer (Yang Shi Tan Po Chuang)
This ulcer is mostly caused by *Shanghan* (Cold Damage) pathogen residing in the Yang meridians, resulting from insufficient sweating therapy. Inadequate sweating inevitably leads to pain; prolonged pain causes swelling; prolonged swelling turns red and hot; prolonged heat leads to tissue destruction. This is termed Yang Damp-Phlegm Ulcer. Treatment should focus on resolving dampness, transforming phlegm, and relieving pain. Externally, moxibustion with mugwort fire is applied to remove necrotic tissue and promote muscle regeneration, concluding with the application of Chonghe Ointment (*Chonghe Gao*).
Yin Damp-Phlegm Ulcer (Yin Shi Tan Po Chuang)
The cause is *Shanghan* pathogen in the Yin meridians failing to induce sweating, leading to sweat stagnation and phlegm formation causing pain. Prolonged pain results in swelling, but the color remains unchanged. Pain intensifies at night, and the painful area feels cold. The pulse is deep and fine. Over time, Qi and Blood stagnate and congeal, leading to muscle death; dead muscle becomes necrotic and foul-smelling, named Yin Damp-Phlegm. Internally, administer Yang-restoring formulas. Externally, apply Yulong Ointment (*Yulong Gao*), combined with moxibustion to stabilize the condition.
Measles Toxin Accumulation (Yang Mei Jie Du)
This lesion involves toxin accumulation following Measles Sores (*Yang Mei Chuang*). It may remain latent for years or even decades because the toxins were not fully cleared. It can also be hereditary from parents to descendants, or self-acquired. The severity of the condition correlates with the degree of toxin accumulation: severe accumulation yields severe symptoms, while mild accumulation yields mild symptoms. Initially, it manifests as bone and tendon pain. After two to three months, if detected, use exterior-releasing and detoxifying herbs, followed by moxibustion for stabilization. See methods below.
Measles Tinea/Ulcer (Yang Mei Xuan Chuang)
This tinea-like condition arises from consuming beef during the onset of Measles Sores, bathing and scratching while exposed to wind, or engaging in sexual intercourse, resulting in a foul, fishy odor throughout the body. Lesions may be dry with white scales or exude foul-smelling fluid. Treatment differentiates based on upper or lower body involvement and assesses Qi and Blood status. For symptomatic relief, use Xiaofeng San (*Xiaofeng Powder*) integrated into Qi and Blood-regulating prescriptions for tailored treatment. Externally, applying Fen Shuang (Calomel/Powder Frost) is effective.
