Blood Tumor and Excess Growth (Xue Liu Zhui)
Whenever a blood tumor or excess growth arises, it starts small and gradually enlarges. Its root is slender with a pedicle resembling an eggplant. It is appropriate to administer Diao E Zhen San (Regulate Evil Needle Powder). After one dose, the lesion should be immediately excised with a sharp blade. A silver cautery spoon, heated red-hot, is applied once to cauterize the site, which stops bleeding, prevents ulceration, and ensures no recurrence. Otherwise, the blood tumor will reappear, returning to its original state within less than a month. One should strictly follow the previous treatment methods to stabilize the condition.
Flesh Tumor and Excess Growth (Rou Liu Zhui)
Whenever a flesh tumor first appears, it resembles a chestnut or a peach. Over time, it grows as large as a steamed bun. Its base is broad and large. It presents without pain or itching, without redness or ulceration, neither soft nor hard, neither cold nor hot. It increases day by day. There is no effective treatment, and recovery is difficult even with therapy. Although acupuncture and moxibustion are ineffective, this case is recorded for reference.
Gangrenous Stomatitis Running Like a Horse (Zou Ma Ya Gan)
Gangrenous stomatitis running like a horse is an acute condition of rapid tissue erosion. The severity depends on the degree of damp-heat in the stomach; thus, the progression of the toxic sores varies from slow to rapid. If not treated early, the teeth may be eroded and fall out, leading to death. In emergencies, apply a mixture of Ren Zhong Bai (Human Placenta Ash) 1 qian, Tong Lv (Malachite) 3 fen, and She Xiang (Musk) 0.5 fen, ground into powder, applied topically for immediate cure.
Oral Gangrene (Kou Gan)
This condition involves damp-heat located above the stomach opening, manifesting through the orifice of the Spleen. Internal treatment should aim to clear damp-heat from the Stomach. If not treated early, it may erode the lips, cheeks, and other areas. For external application, use Gan Lan He (Olive Pit) 1 liang, Er Cha (Catechu) 5 qian, and Bing Pian (Borneol) 5 fen, ground into fine powder and applied to the affected area for cure. Three applications are unnecessary; the effect is miraculous.
Nasal Gangrene (Bi Gan)
The nose is the orifice of the Lung. Nasal gangrene indicates the presence of damp-heat in the Lung. Treatment should focus on clearing damp-heat from the Lung, supplemented by topical medication. If not treated early, it may erode the internal nasal passages, causing speech impediments. Use Er Cha (Catechu) 5 qian, Xiong Huang (Realgar) 1 qian, Qing Fen (Calomel) 1 qian, and Bing Pian (Borneol) 1 fen, ground into powder and insufflated into the nostril. If there is a foul odor, add Guo Mo (Lampblack) 5 fen for enhanced efficacy.
