Treating sores and ulcers with swelling located externally. The pulse is mostly floating. The pathogenic factor is dominant and must invade internally.
Dugongpi (Groundcherry Root Bark), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, stir-fried), Fuling (Poria), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Baishaoyao (White Peony Root, stir-fried), Huangqi (Astragali Radix, stir-fried with salt water), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, stir-fried), Rougui (Cinnamon Twig), Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried), Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, mixed with wine), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, mixed with wine, each 1 qian), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 2 qian).
First, chop Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma) to one sheng. Add five sheng of water and decoct. First remove the Cangzhu dregs, then add the other herbs and decoct again until two sheng remain. Drink throughout the day. The Cangzhu dregs are decocted again for administration.
Treating carbuncles and sores that have been treated with purgative or dispersing methods but have not subsided. Take this prescription. If not yet formed into pus, it will dissipate; if already formed, it will ulcerate. Necrotic tissue is easily removed, and new flesh grows easily. For open sores, it is suitable to apply plaster medicine; once healed/converged, discontinue use. Strictly avoid using flesh-regenerating medicines too early. Also treats epidemic toxins, resolving both exterior and interior pathogens. When swollen flesh does not recede and suppuration is desired:
Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Huangqi (Astragali Radix, stir-fried with salt water), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, washed with wine), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Peony Root, stir-fried), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, stir-fried), Fuling (Poria, each 1 qian), Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos, each 0.7 fen), Gancao (Licorice Root, 0.5 fen).
Prepare as one dose. Use two zhong of water, decoct to eight parts. If the sore is located above or below the body, take divided doses before and after meals.
Treating sores where there is poor appetite or lack of desire for food, or where necrosis does not occur, or where healing/convergence does not happen.

Ruxiang (Olibanum, 0.2 fen), Badou (Crotonis Fructus, shelled and stir-fried until scorched), Jian (Alkali), Baidingxiang (Vermis Mieridae, fine and straight ones are best, each 0.5 fen).
Grind into powder. Mix with boiled water and apply to the head of the sore. Frequently moisten with alkali water to prevent drying.
Treating sores where there is no external swelling and internal bowel movements are smooth. This indicates the pathogen is in the meridians; use this for regulation. (See the section "Diaphoresis cures the sore").
