At the initial stage, red nevi appear, gradually accumulating and enlarging to the size of a red bean. If touched and broken, blood flows incessantly, potentially leading to death. This condition is caused by liver meridian fire anger and stagnant blood. Externally apply Wulingzhi (Trogopterus Dung) powder to stop bleeding; internally administer Jiawei Xiaoyao San (Modified Free and Easy Wanderer Powder).
Jiawei Xiaoyao San (General Formula No. 16.)
Bleeding occurs simultaneously from the ears, eyes, mouth, and nose. There is no time to decoct medicine, and death occurs in an instant. First, spray Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian, Ice Borneol) on the face several times. Quickly part the hair and cover the head with several layers of coarse paper. Then, take Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) added with Renshen (Ginseng Root) and Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit), processed into pills, which leads to recovery.
Blood sweats from all pores of the body. Since the Heart governs blood and sweat, extreme deficiency combined with fire manifests as blood sweat, treated with Maiyi Tang (Pulse Overflow Decoction). If scratching causes incessant bleeding, apply ash from a burnt feces bucket to the affected area. Sweating in the axillae that stains clothes yellow is also considered blood sweat, caused by deficiency.
Maiyi Tang
Renshen (Ginseng Root) Huangqi (Astragalus Root) Dangguishen (Angelica Sinensis Root Heart) Fushen (Poria with Hostwood) Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber) Shilianrou (Lotus Plumule) Shengdihuang (Rehmannia Root) Wuweizi (Schisandra Fruit) Zhusha (Cinnabar)
These herbs can be made into pills or decocted. If decocted, mix with Zhusha (Cinnabar) for administration.
Tongfeng (Gout) is equivalent to Tongbi (Painful Bi Syndrome). Generalized bi pain or numbness and insensitivity of the hands and feet, along with whole-body numbness, are all due to blood deficiency and stagnation of wind-dampness. Use Qufeng Zhushi San (Wind-Expelling and Dampness-Dispersing Powder), taking two qian per dose. After ingestion, when pain and numbness cease, continue for several doses until sensation returns, then stop.
Qufeng Zhushi San
Fanmubie (Strychnos Nux-vomica Seed, processed and powdered) Chuanshanwei Jia (Pangolin Scale from tail, processed and powdered, each 3 qian) Shu Fuzi (Prepared Aconite Lateral Root) Guizhi (Cinnamon Twig) Danggui (Angelica Sinensis Root) Yanhusuo (Corydalis Rhizome, each powdered 1 liang)
Grind all ingredients uniformly. Take two qian per dose, mixed with aged wine, until intoxication induces sweating.
Infants born with fever and red skin, resembling scalding by hot water or burning, result from the pregnant mother consuming excessive spicy, aromatic, and hot foods, causing heat accumulation in the infant's spleen and stomach. The nursing mother should use Qingwei Tang (Stomach-Clearing Decoction) and avoid decocted medicines.
One: Infants who have grown old enough to eat rice and flour but still exhibit fever and red skin suffer from internal organ heat steaming and external invasion of dampness, named Yulan Chuang (Jade-Rotting Sore). Apply Miaoxiao San (Cuttlefish Bone Powder) mixed with honey water externally, and internally administer Daochi Tang (Guide Out Redness Decoction).
