Above the Shan Gen (root of the nose), if green meridians appear vertically, it indicates Liver Heat (Liver Fire). Use the following prescription:
Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) (3 fen), Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) (1 qian), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (5 fen), Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (3 fen), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 fen), Fu Ling (Poria) (1 qian), Shan Zha (Crataegi Fructus) (3 grains).
If green meridians appear horizontally or vertically, it is also Liver Heat. However, vertical appearance indicates Wind pathogen moving upward, while horizontal appearance indicates Wind pathogen moving downward. Use the same prescription as above, but add Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) 2 fen and Mai Ya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus) 1 liang.
If red meridians appear vertically, it indicates Heart Heat (Heart Fire). Use the same prescription as above, add Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) 1 fen, Mai Ya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus) 5 fen, remove Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), and add Sang Bai Pi (Mori Cortex) 3 fen and Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix) 2 fen. If red meridians appear obliquely, it is also Heart Heat; use the same prescription with an addition of Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) 2 fen. This is because extreme heat accumulates in the chest; therefore, Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) should not be used.
[Again]
If yellow meridians appear at the Shan Gen (root of the nose), regardless of whether they are horizontal or vertical, this always indicates a Spleen-Stomach disorder. Symptoms may include watery diarrhea, vomiting, lower abdominal diarrhea, abdominal pain, or loss of appetite. I have formulated a prescription that can be taken for all these conditions, and it yields miraculous effects. For cases with sallow complexion:
Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (5 fen), Fu Ling (Poria) (5 fen), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) (2 fen), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) (2 fen), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) (1 fen), Mai Ya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus) (2 fen), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (1 fen). Decoct in water and take orally, adding Dan Zhu Ye (Lophatheri Herba) (7 leaves).
If there is phlegm, add Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) 1 fen, or Bai Jie Zi (Sinapis Semen) 2 fen, or Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix) 2 fen; if there is heat manifesting as thirst, add Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix) 1 fen; if there is cold, add Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) 1 fen; for vomiting...
Abdominal pain requires pressing with the hand; if the child cries out loudly, it is due to Food Stagnation (accumulation of undigested food)...
If the child does not cry out in pain, it is due to Cold pathogen; Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) 2 fen can be added. As for...
