The human body possesses five Zang organs. The five Zang organs correspond to and combine with the five tissues; specifically, the Spleen combines with the Stomach, serving as the mansion for receiving and rotting food and drink. If a state's granaries are full and grain supplies abundant, it ensures sufficient food and military provisions. Similarly, when a person's Stomach Qi is sufficient, health is maintained.
For conditions caused by the activation of "Rushi" (mineral drugs), where heat toxins attack upward, causing mental restlessness and irritability, retention of phlegm-fluids, nausea and vomiting, and inability to take in food, the Qianhu San Formula is indicated.
Qianhu (Radix Peucedani) (1 liang, remove the rhizome head) Chifuling (Poria Cocos with Red Bark) (3 fen) Chenjupi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Aged) (3 fen, soak in water, remove white pith, dry over fire) Huangqi (Radix Astragali Membranacei) (3 fen, cut into small pieces)
Zhike (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus) (1 piece, remove pith, stir-fry with bran until slightly yellow) Maimendong (Radix Ophiopogonis Japonici) (0.5 liang, remove heart, dry over fire)
Crush and sieve the above ingredients to make a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Add 1 zhong lamp of water, 0.5 ban of fresh ginger, and 1 fen of bamboo shavings (Zhuru). Decoct until 6 fen remains, strain off the dregs.
Take warm, regardless of time.
For conditions caused by the activation of Rushi, characterized by deficiency-heat, vexation and stuffiness, retention of phlegm-fluids, nausea and vomiting, the Renshen San Formula is indicated.
Renshen (Radix Ginseng) (1 liang, remove the rhizome head) Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis) (0.5 liang, honey-fried until slightly red, cut into small pieces) Baizhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) (0.5 liang) Gualougen (Radix Trichosanthis) (1 liang) Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis) (0.5 liang)
Crush and sift coarsely the above ingredients to make a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Add 1 zhong lamp of water and 0.5 ban of fresh ginger. Decoct until 6 fen remains, strain off the dregs.
Take warm, regardless of time.
For conditions caused by the activation of Rushi, characterized by constrained heat and retention of phlegm-fluids, epigastric fullness and obstruction, and incessant vomiting, use Yanbang Tang Formula.
Yanbang (Avis Anas Platyrynchos Plumage/Feet? *Note: Text says 'Yan Pang', likely referring to specific part or bird, traditionally interpreted as Goose webbing or similar avian part in some contexts, but literal translation used*) (2 liang, remove feathers) Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis) (1 fen, honey-fried until slightly red, cut into small pieces) Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis) (1 fen, cut into small pieces, lightly stir-fried) Dazao (Fructus Jujubae) (5 pieces, split open) Chi Shaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra) (1 fen, cut into small pieces)
Cut the above ingredients finely. Add 5 zhong lamps of water and 3 fen of fresh ginger. Decoct until 2.5 zhong lamps remain, strain off the dregs. Divide into 5 doses. Frequent administration yields better results.
For conditions caused by the activation of Rushi, characterized by mental agitation, irritability, and heat, retention of phlegm-fluids, nausea and vomiting, and inability to eat, the Huangqin Tang Formula is indicated.
Huangqin (Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis) (0.5 liang) Xiebai (Bulbus Allii Macrostemonis) (1 handful) Chenjupi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Aged) (0.5 liang, soak in water, remove white pith, dry over fire) Chi (Folium Sojae Praeparatum / Fermented Soybean) (1 he) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (1 liang, crushed)
Maimendong (Radix Ophiopogonis Japonici) (0.5 liang, remove heart)
Cut the above ingredients finely. Add 3 zhong lamps of water. Decoct until 1.5 zhong lamps remain, strain off the dregs. Divide into 3 doses. Take warm, regardless of time.
For conditions caused by the activation of Rushi, characterized by deficiency-heat, retention of phlegm-fluids, nausea and vomiting, and inability to eat, use Baimaogen Tang Formula.
Baimaogen (Radix Imperatae Cylindricae) (1 handful) Maimendong (Radix Ophiopogonis Japonici) (1 liang, remove heart) Chenjupi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Aged) (0.5 liang, soak in water, remove white pith, dry over fire) Danzhuru (Caulis Bambusae in Taeniam) (0.5 liang)
