Shanghan Bing (Cold Damage Disease), after passing through a meridian cycle, remains uncured. The pulse is instead deep and slow, with cold extremities. This indicates the absence of pulse at the lower positions, signifying an isolation of Yin and Yang energies. Pathogenic factors have invaded the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. Toxic heat ascends to fumigate the upper body, causing throat obstruction, pain, or the formation of sores.
