The Heart governs the blood. The Liver stores the blood. Therefore, excessive worry and overthinking damage the Heart (Xin), while anger causing Qi rebellion that ascends without descending damages the Liver (Gan). Damage to both the Liver and Heart can lead to hematemesis (vomiting blood). If there is rebellious Qi in the chest and heart region accompanied by pain, it is suitable to take Fulonggan San (Dragon's House Soil Powder).
Fulonggan (Cinnabar Earth) (2 liang), Sheng Gan Dihuang (Raw Dried Rehmanniae Radix) (2 liang), Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (0.5 liang), Chi Shaoyao (Red Paeoniae Radix) (0.5 liang), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (0.5 liang), Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus Cortex) (0.5 liang).
